El Mexicano is a food truck in Leadville, Colorado, considered the best for authentic Mexican food. A local favorite, the food 80% of the time is really good, with great food at a low price. The staff is really friendly & pleasant, always with a smile and friendly service. The tortas are a true standout, and the green chile is great. Specific meals include tamales, a chicken quesadilla (which contained five bones), and a Carnitas Burrito. The wait can be really long, taking half an hour during the dinner rush, but it is worth it if customers have the time. This is the go-to for authentic delicious Mexican, and quite possibly some of the best Mexican food in Colorado.
