I really enjoyed my lunch at Manitou Eatery. I was happy that I could order a smaller burger than half a pound. The burger was tasty. However the vegetables were over cooked and soggy. Tess's service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was cute, but it was very cold. If I am in area I would go again.
Cute restaurant, but food and service was horrible. The menu on here is very outdated. They only have 4 entrees on the menu now. Even though the waitress said it was crazy slow on the Saturday we went (we were the only ones in the restaurant) when we went to order the fish and pork chops, she told us "oh sorry, we are out of that". So we just had the fish and got some chicken soup for my wife. The fish was was okay, not great but not bad. The soup was not really good at all. Then at the end, we ordered apple pie a la mode. She went to get it and then came back saying " sorry, we only have cherry". I said that was fine, so she went and got it (took a while) came back and gave it to me without ice cream. I said, I ordered with ice cream, she said "oh, we are out of that as well,". Pie wasn't that good. Would never eat here again. Too bad, the restaurant building is really cool, someone else should take over and turn it around.
This was a yummy lunch spot and delightful ambiance on the back deck. The food was good fries were AMAZING! Fish and chips were good and burgers delicious.
$41 for a bland and mediocre breakfast at best. The pancakes were rubbery. They bring you cheap table syrup that’s cold and thick. Neither the French toast or pancakes had butter. The French toast was so extremely bland and yet was under cooked. The hash browns were undercooked and had no flavor. Not to mention the portions weren’t worth what we paid at all. It’s cold outside and the front door was propped open for some reason. There are cameras in the dining area which was very off putting. Left disappointed
Dining on the porch is very pleasant. The menu is indeed limited but -at least the lunch menu- sufficient. The prices are rather high but such are the times. The service was good. Our friends had fish sandwiches and one of them liked it, the other did not. The fries were reportedly good. We had Reuben. My husband chose a side salad. I randomly asked for fried pickles and unfortunately did not like them. Their color also took away from presentation. But Rueben was tasty. This place has its soul and pleasant style and I would go back and dine there again. Dining in Manitou eatery feels like a real experience.
Worst experience at a restaurant we've ever had. We were completely ignored for 20 mins, no, "I'll be right with you" .. nothing. a lady finally came up and asked who seated us..and I said "you did." She quite literally gave us our table then walks away saying nothing. And after she asked us that question She left us without saying anything again. About 5 mins later a different lady came up and took our order. We over hear the people behind us ask the waitress why she did not get the bacon she ordered. The lady says "I'm so sorry but we're out. Pretty inconvenient timing I guess" so knowing we ordered our bacon she said nothing to us about it. We then get our food and of course the bacon wasn't there but we only knew bc of bystanders not our own waitress. My husband asks for syrup on his pancakes, "sorry, I guess were out." Their hash browns are quite literally old hard French fries that they chopped in half and threw peppers on them, not your traditional hash browns you expect (or maybe they were out of hash browns and just used what they could) the over easy eggs were so undercooked it was basically egg whites when cut into. Our waitress never came back to check on us, we were out of water, the food wasn't adequate, we were ignored..we got out as quick as we could. I understand about understaffing in this day, and I sympathize with it but it was 10am and nobody in there with several waitresses passing and ignoring us. It was expensive and not worth it.
Cute place…not great service. Strangest hash browns (French fries chopped up in a bowl) I have ever seen. $14 for an omelet no sides…luke warm coffee…had to ask more than once for every single thing…fork, water, etc.
Service on a weekday mid-morning was borderline comical. A complete lack of staff or management attention to the customer experience. So many things went wrong. The menu was nice and supports a variety of diets, and the food was actually decent.
The food was decent, not many menu items/options though. The Wait Staff were GREAT. If weather permits, I recommend eating on the patio. It sits over the creek and sometimes has a man singing and playing a guitar.
Waitstaff very pleasant. Menu extremely limited. Venue - outside dining very relaxing. Flavor of food fair. Large bar when you walk in but no alcohol served.

Cute atmosphere but the menu is lacking and the cooking is not good.Food took forever. Over cooked burger, dry and not edible. The “ fried Mac n cheese” is LITERALLY Kraft out of a box fried into triangles. The only saving grace were the fries are really good. They seem to be taking advantage of the tourism.
Was a very small menu and that’s ok for lunch. But I’ve never seen a black bean burger like that. Was really just flavorless beans straight from the pot onto the bun. Couldn’t pick it up in any way. And when I told the waitress, she said “that’s the way it comes” and I clarified…sounds like it was purchased that way (frozen or ?, did they follow the instructions). Any way I got a side salad instead.
We had a mixed bag with this meal. We had to wait because they messed up on order. My little one ate all the chicken tenders fries and salad. Oldest son said fish sandwich was good. Fish and chips was good. Fried pickles were ok. You get a ton of fries with meal. Wife ordered bbq chicken and it was not what the waiter said it was. It was shredded chicken covered in bbq sauce on a croissant roll which you could not pick up because it was soggy. The summer vegetable she got were not that appealing.
Food was overpriced and everything came out rubbery like it was microwaved too long or not fresh. Menu was really limited. Service not great, beautiful historic building but not being used to its potential. Send Gordon Ramsay. Bring back stagecoach inn.
A little pricey for what is offered. My Ruben was super good though. It seems the place lacks a vision. Like it exist only as a business for income instead of it being a place that someone put thier personality into. New ownership as of 2021 though. So it may take some time. But the building (especially the patio seating) is a wonderfully old building. Really could an enchanting little haunt if some more care was put into atmosphere and menu.
