Rooms: Small but cozy.
Nearby activities: Bars and sauna!
Safety: I felt this area was very safe. Ouray is a small town.
Walkability: If you're planning to stay on Main and 8th, all of your food and drink needs are within walking distance. If you're looking for places to splurge on luxury items you'd have to drive a lot further.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Imogene Hotel. We came during off season, so ended up having the whole place to ourselves. The living room/lounge area by the bar was the perfect place to lounge with a cup of coffee that I made from their coffee bar. The Thai restaurant below and the Gold Belt bar and grill below and across the street were fantastic. Great service and good. Great location right on the main road with beautiful views from our room. I would highly recommend!

Best rooftop bar in Ouray!
I wanted to love this place. The renovations were beautiful! They did an amazing job! However…..the room cost me just shy of $400 a night which was way more than what they should have charged for the facilities. I would have been comfortable paying around $150 for what we had.
We booked it for the whiskey bar but the whiskey bar was never actually open. Not only that but their whiskey bar consisted of some lack luster whiskey choices. The best options being smoked maple knob creek and basil Hayden’s… Our room was also just steps away from the whiskey bar which was not what we were expecting and we ended up being glad they never opened.
The roof top bar shut down before 8pm. So by the time we walked across the street after dinner everything was dark and shutdown for the night.
Also during our stay we had some of the roof top bar patrons walk in our room while we were changing and showering looking for a bathroom. SURPRISE!! Shame on us for not locking the door but there really should be better signage making sure people know the last two doors are actual hotel rooms. Side note, our room was about 4 paces from the public bathroom so easy mix up.
Keep in mind that there is absolutely nothing to hide between the room and the bathroom so make sure you book this stay with someone you feel INCREDIBLY comfortable with because there are no secrets in this room.
We received a text at exactly 3pm with the instructions on how to enter the room. Thank God we had cell service. I was actually nervous about what to do in the event our coverage wasn’t happening in town which often happens.
We never found the sauna or other amenities as the entire place was shut down and dark.
A little more information about our stay would have done wonders. And like I said, had I not paid $400 a night for the room, my review would be completely different. If you can book this place for $150ish, great stay!
Walkability: Right on Main Street so an easy walk to shops, restaurants and bars.

They were late on check in and did not even apologize, got to the hotel and saw that the stairs you climb are exterior grated RUSTED METAL steep stairs and no where that I could find was it mentioned that these stairs were exterior. Hauling gear is not fun. I refused the room. Pre -Payment with no refunds. If they showed the entrance on the website you certainly would think TWICE. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Here is a photo to decide for yourself.

We went in the winter we like to help out the small town economy during the winter. Hotel Great. Views Great. Parking is terrible. Side Streets parking terrible and very easy to get stuck due to the unplowed streets … parked on main street closer to the hotel and got a $150 parking ticket. Not $25 or $75 … $150 . Will Not be back!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL. We reserved this hotel for our wedding night. We arrived at 9:30 and door was locked with no way to reach staff or hotel manager after hours. This left us with nowhere to stay on a holiday weekend on our wedding night. We communicated with hotel staff later on and were told that we were to receive a text for door code. This was never received and the phone number they had on file was not correct. We have yet to receive $300 refund. I do not recommend in any capacity reserving with this hotel.

We had the most amazing stay at the Imogene! Such unique, beautiful rooms in downtown Ouray. They were so kind and upgraded our room for our engagement! We will definitely be coming again!

Fabulous location in Ouray, CO. Rooftop bar is AMAZING!!! Easy contactless check in. Rooms are super clean and cute. Perfect little respite stop for my road trip west. I’d definitely stay here again.

Pretty dumb hotel. No front desk or any one human to interact with to save $$ and make more income “it’s all digital/remote” No fridge in room. Paper thing walls/door. Meh designing throughout. Not sure why one would not stay at a mediocre chain instead…
