We had the most wonderful service and the food was excellent! Shannon, our server was Polite professional, and a real joy to have. We will be returning the next chance we get.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Ouray. Honestly, a MUST DO every time we are here. The vibe and decor are fabulous and remind of us places in NYC but with a distinctive Colorado slant. The variety of choices on the menu is great should accommodate just about anyone. We started with cocktails, then the very generous charcuterie plate and then split a mushroom ravioli special, which was delicious. We brought the pot de creme home for desert, which actually traveled quite well. Eric provided attentive and professional service! Definitely will return!
Housed in the Western Hotel, this restaurant is a gem. The menu is focused. Food precise. The beverage program is on point. Looking forward to our next visit.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here. Our server was great! Very attentive, even brought a piece of turkey to take home for my service dog. The food was absolutely delicious!!!
We dined at the Western Saloon and Grill for a pre-fixed Thanksgiving dinner. First off, the restaurant and hotel are absolutely goregous. Very historical, charming, and warm. Service was also great. I was especially appreciative of the fact that the cook saw my comment requesting she make vegetarian stuffing - which wasn't on the original menu - and she obliged! Stuffing is my favorite Thanksgiving food, so it was such a pleasant surprise she'd go out of her way to make special stuffing. The food and wine were delicious. We had a great time. Thanks!
The chefs table was a great experience. We enjoyed talking to the chefs and tasting their amazing food. Watching their craft in action was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and elegantly presented.
What a jewel this place is—and yet it didn't appear on any of my searches about Ouray restaurants. It's a beautifully restored 1891 building, reminiscent of the old west yet completely modern with updates. The food was simply amazing, the service fantastic and the ambience second to nowhere in Ouray. Highly HIGHLY recommend spending time here for not only the dining experience but also the happy hour, spa and hotel.
Enjoyed dinner with the family - this is my second time to the Western, and the team does a great job!
Amazing staff. Great food. Chefs table was a great experience. Highly recommend for guests ay the western or visiting patrons of Ouray.
One server, who was overwhelmed by the room. Food ordinary, and overpriced for what was served.

Very romantic and no patrons in baseball caps and hunting gear. Beautiful interior for lobby, restaurant and bar. Excellent service and very good drinks. Great menu and luscious deserts. The NY strip not a great cut and special pork chop was overdone. Everything else was top notch. I would highly recommend. Shannon our server was perfect. Thanks!
Wonderful upscale dinner! Beet & Pecan Little Gem Salad, Squash Blossom Special, Fresh Pasta with Lamb Sauce, Pork Chop Special with Polenta. Lots of fun cocktails, mocktails, and extensive wine list. Two options for seating - cocktail bar lounge or large dinning room. Small booths and tables. Original western features with a new design. Nice addition to Ouray dinning. Great for a special occasion! The Western would also be a great place to reserve entire dinning room for a rehearsal dinner.
We liked the Western Saloon and Grill so well that we returned again the next evening for dinner. Kelly was an excellent hostess and Eric did another wonderful job as our server. This time we opted for the beet salad, special flash fried squash blossom stuffed with goat cheese appetizer, and the special steelhead trout dip accompanied by the house Chardonnay. All were delicious! We finished with the baked apple Crisp with whipping cream, another outstanding selection in a small cast iron skillet.
Amazing place!! The bar is top notch! Eric is an amazing mixologist!! We experienced the chocolate martini, the Smoky Sunset the Dragon Vapour and the Western Deluxe Old Fashioned! 5 stars! Make time to visit this blast from the past!
Food was underwhelming. We've been at the Western on numerous occasions - this trip did not measure up. We are not complainers - it is just that we are used to great!
