Our party of 6 was able to get last minute reservations during a busy Spring Break week night and were fortunate enough to have Pagosa’s most knowledgeable, attentive and friendly waitress, Tamara. She gave us all the best recommendations of the menu and she was spot on. Drinks were amazing as well. Some fan favorites were the fried cauliflower, a halved chicken platter (forgot the name), beet salad, whipped potatoes, Brussel sprouts and the brûlée. Highly recommend the Great gatspy and The Chokehold. We will definitely come back to the Alley House the next time we come back!
2/25/24. We found it highly overrated. The food was OK at best. We had nothing that would be really memorable. It was very expensive for what we received.Parking: They have a lot outside but it is all torn up right now.

My husband and I were staying at The Resort for our anniversary and we decided o celebrate at Alley House Grill at a friend's recommendation. I did read the recent reviews and raised an eyebrow that it was referred to as an Applebee's. But we had an amazing experience. Heather was our server and she was kind and attentive, plus the little girl that cleared our plates was really nice. We started with drinks, that we both re-ordered. My husband is a whiskey sour guy, but he had the elk own, twice and enjoyed the uniqueness of the taste. I had the gin princess, loving the strong cherry taste. I had a wedge salad and we shared a calamari appetizer. I had the short rib and he had the bison ribeye, that he repeatedly said it was the best meal eating out we had had in a long time. We can't wait to return on our next visit Pagosa.

Tried this place on the recommendation of a family member, and were blown away! Greg took such great care of us, and his recommendations were spot on! The calamari were fresh and delicious, and the cippino was amazing!! Highly recommend trying this place for a perfect night out in Pegosa! The original side is over 100 years old!! Cheers!
The hostess told us there was no seating and when a bar seat opened we could take it. I told her we would wait for a table(a party of 2). She said okay and that was it. She didn't seem like she wanted to get my info or do her job. I asked if she wanted my name and number and how long the wait would be. She said 30 minutes and that we could wait on the couches. We noticed 3 tables were empty as we were sitting and waiting. She proceeded to seat a family of 4 and a family of 3; note, they were the same ethnicity. We waited 40 mins before she was going to seat us, to a table that had been open for the last 40 minutes. After being ignored and realizing we were the only minorities (Hispanic and Asian), we left. Bartender was nice though.
Amazing restaurant!! If you’re looking for a fine dining experience with a great atmosphere and even better food, Alley House is a must! We loved it so much we went twice during our trip! Both waiters we had were great and the hostess were nice! We even got to sit at our table 15 min prior to our reservation both times. Reservations were very simple online which is always nice. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town! Everything we ate and drank was incredible!
We went to Alley House for Valentine's Day Dinner and everything was Amazing! Our server was fabulous, too. We ordered the Elk, and I tried to ask for it 'medium well' and she stopped me and told me "no," she explained that Elk is so lean that it gets tougher the longer you cook it...She was right. It came out just mid-rare, and it almost melted in our mouths...it was delicious! We also shared the Cauliflower app, a Southwestern Wedge, the bread pudding and cocktails. Everything was wonderful!
I have ate at Alley house in the past and it was decent. This time I was very disappointed in the service and the food. My food came out wrong and I didn't even have a fork to try to eat it with ....my husband dis not get a steak knife with his plate either....it took our server 5 minutes before she came to our table to check on us...I explained my food was wrong and she took it back to the kitchen. She returned a few moments later with a knife for my husband and assured me they were cooking me new scallops and they would be out in 8 minutes or so. A fee minutes later she returned with the plate properly made, but with the same old, cold scallop that were on the original plate...she blamed the food runner foe the mistake and also lied to me about the scallops being cooked fresh. As a Chef, I feel the folks cooking the food there should really take a little more pride and passion in the food they are cooking, especially considering the price tag on the plates...I was very disappointed for the lastntime and will not be returning.....
