We went for the special 4 course dinner for two. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The portions were modest but we weren't looking for a huge meal. We felt the value was fair as far as the food and service. Unfortunately we were seated next to a rather large party of women celebrating a birthday. They were having a wonderful time, which is great for them, but it was so loud. We almost couldn't hear each other at our table. There were no other diners...
I had Mole Pork Coloradito... it was outstanding! The mole was very tasty, the pork was HUGE but well cooked and well seasoned, and the vegetables served with it were a nice complement. The plate looked a bit like something from the Flintstones (for those old enough to get the reference!) I had Parker House rolls, too, and they were good for sopping up the mole when no one was looking. The waitress informed me that the pork dish would rotate off the menu in the summer.
We went on a double date. Our table had a view of the river. We sat just in time to place some happy hour orders and then chose the fixed-price 4-course meal with wine pairings. The food and wine were amazing. Allison was our server, and she always had a smile. She shared a backstory and tasting notes for all of the wine pairings. We never felt rushed and had a wonderful time.
