The food took a very long time and wasnt great, but this is definitely more of a bar/hangout place than restaurant. I wouldn’t come back for the food but id come back for the vibes!
Bon Vivant is a beautiful mountain restaurant in Telluride. When we went for lunch, the indoor area wasn’t open, but on a sunny day it’s honestly the best place on the mountain to go.
The food is the best-cooked of any mountain restaurant I’ve tried — really well prepared, flavorful, and comforting. Plus, sitting in the sun feels amazing: it naturally warms you up, and they even provide sunglasses, sunscreen, and Bon Vivant hats so you’re protected from the sun.

Bon Vivant offers a unique dining experience, especially for food lovers who enjoy snowboarding. The French Onion Soup can have varying salt levels, and reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue is a beautiful mountain retreat at the top of the polar queen express, where guests can enjoy a distinctly unique vibe created by Luke. While the food is generally praised as excellent, it also features some outstanding vegetarian and vegan options this season, along with a nice selection of wines and spirits. Although live music and chairs are not always available, the iconic location provides outstanding views at over 11,000 feet, especially on clear days. The staff are super friendly and very attentive, making it a recommended part of the Telluride experience. To secure a spot for lunch, it is advised to arrive between 11:00 and noon to add a name to the list, as seating at the bar fills up quickly. With limited on-mountain dining options in Telluride, Bon Vivant stands out as the best run and most accessible choice.
