“It is not often that the hype of a place lives up to the claims but Kawa Ni is one such place. You walk into a very vibey space with music, an open kitchen and a gong on the wall that they hit anytime anyone orders a beer with a sake shot. It honestly does a good job of transporting you at least a little bit to somewhere else. The cocktails were well balanced and fun, but not so fun and unique that you have to wonder what the heck they are trying to say is in each one. The menu is all supposed to be shareable, for the best experience I recommend going with a group of 4 or more. We got a smatterings of things from the hamachi, a 10/10 by the way, to the shaved broccoli which had such a unique sauce on it and was perfectly dressed, to the cold soba noodles. I want to give a moment to the peanut sauce on those soba noodles, because my god that sauce is a peanut lovers dream! I want it in a jar to put on every rice dish I eat moving forward! Very few things fell short of delicious expectations! Some things were more standout in flavor than others but nothing was abhorrent or made me turn up my nose. Some items I enjoyed but won't rave about, the matcha tiramisu, it was really good, but the way people rave about it you would expect it to be the kind of delicious that could end a long standing feud between scorned lovers, for me it was a decent dessert, but next time I will try something else. Also, The curry dish, I wanted more pow when it came to flavor. It was good, but curry can be so much more. The menu changes regularly which I love because it means I can have a different experience if I go from season to season. Kawa Ni will absolutely be on my short list when it comes to places I want to take people when they visit.“
“We were at the Cherry Blossom Festival and wanted to continue our Japanese cultural experience. We looked up online nearby restaurants… we called and were greeted VERY warmly and inviting and walked here. We had a fantastic culinary dining experience!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back soon!! Thank you!!“
“phenomenal food and flavors experienced tonight along with an upbeat mix of music that I guarantee you'll be bobbing your head along with.. everything from esoterra produce to uni tostada to the bomb pork belly and curry lobster pasta. ON POINT, ya'll“
“We love Kobe An and have been patrons going back 30 years since they were in Lakewood. Marco has done an amazing job with the new -er location and his staff is well trained. His newer sushi chefs are doing a fantastic job which leaves him free to focus more on the front of the house. We told him tonight that the sushi is the best it’s been in the 30 years we’ve been going to his restaurants. The hamachi and mussels were outstanding, as were the rolls and cocktails. The new Kobe An is the real deal.“
“The food was amazing! We started our meal off with the crab cheese wonton. These were the BEST that I have ever tried. I would go back just for those. I ordered the Spicy Sachi Ramen, it was good and it must have been all made from scratch because I waited on my meal alone for 25 minutes. My wife got the Chicken Hibachi, and it was very good (I stole a bite ?). We also got Eel Nigiri, Spicy Salmon Nigiri, and Mackerel Nigiri. The sushi was amazing. The only downfall was the service. We waited around 10 minutes for each refill, and that was when we would see the waitress come by. Otherwise, it was about a 15-minute wait for refills or anything else we needed.“
