Overall dinner was fine, This was my first visit to an Elways and had high expectations. You could tell they are not quiet ready for season. My primary concern was that we ordered a Bone In Ribeye and a NY Strip, both Medium Rare. Both came out blue, nice sear but far from Med rare. They did take back to the kitchen, reheated and were served at appropriate Med Rare. Was disappointed that I did not receive much of an apology. Cooking very expensive steaks should be the primary still of a high end steak house. The team was nice and pleasant, the Mac and Cheese is world class and after correcting the temp, the steaks tasked very good. Thank you. Joel Darr
Great staff, great food felt like we were in a Dennys. Not your typical steak house. Needs a lot of updating.
QUICK REVIEW: Very nice Steakhouse in Vail, Great service. Solid 4.8 Stars. Recommend. Yes, we will be back. LONGER REVIEW: We have been to Elway's in Vail a number of times over the years, but it has been a while. Based on reviews, decided to give it a another try. SERVICE: Seated promptly at reservation time at a booth by request. Alejandra - our main server - was Awesome. She was there when you needed her, with a great attitude and advice. Nice job! FOOD and COCKTAILS. Had a "French martini" and a Glass of Red Blend. Wines by the glass were adequate, the wine list by the bottle is more extensive. #7 Salad to table share, Sea Bass prep, and Prime Ribeye. Loaded baked potato and Sweet corn for sides. All perfectly cooked, with a few take home boxes. All Very Tasty. The chocolate cake to share at the end - all gone. OVERALL: Elways always delivers for us. Highly recommend. Only downside was a couple of "fussy" babies in the dining room, but that was a minor distraction. YES, we would go back.
We lived in Colorado for years and skied Vail many times. We were fans of John Elway during years with the BRONCOS. We anticipated a great meal our last night in Vail b but unfortunately were sadly disappointed. We were placed at a small table, surrounded by noisy groups. The steak was tasteless, the potatoes au gratin were burned. Overall an unpleasant experience. We won't be returning without a at least a letter of apology. Sincerely, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Wenger Room 305 Lodge at Vail
Service and wine were great, food was pretty mediocre for the price.

Vail, They sat us in a tight corner on date night, the table next to us was set for 8 they added 4 additional chairs to it which made it impossible to service are table, Couldn’t get a waiter close to the table ,the staff would have to look over wall above at a server station to see us,just had to vent,A big fan of John’s

We made this our special dinner for our time in Vail...and Elways did not disappoint. I had the short rib, and it was literally the best I've ever had. Fall apart tender, great tasting au jus, awesome creamy horse radish sauce. We also had the halibut. Not cheap...but the food, service, and atmosphere were perfect.

For a fine dining restaurant, it lacked amenities, was short on drinks and foods they advertise in their menu.

Hard to find- hostess not helpful With directions, drinks average, coffee not hot at end of meal, dessert( ho Ho) not very flavorful at all. Steak and lobster were good/average. Not a high end steakhouse as advertised but nice patio.
We didn't have steak so maybe we just ordered the wrong things. I cook a lot and when you ask if the Brussels are crisp, the should be crisp. These were not cooked enough and though the sauce was good, the overall was just ok. Same with coconut shrimp. Not much coconut and coating was not crisp...just ok. Fish tacos were better and I would go back to try other dishes. It's a beautiful, fun place and I wish our dishes had been more exciting .
A wonderful night to remember.
This was a surprise date night to my wife. I’ve booked this place over two weeks and after doing countless research on the best place in Vail for steak.
The service from Alejandra was fantastic. She was attentive and continuously wished my wife a Happy Birthday. More on this later.
We ordered a feast as we came into this meal hungry.
We both loved our steaks. So tender, juicy and oozing with flavor - we agreed that we were happy with our decisions on the filets.
The onion rings are by far the best in class. So tender inside but the thick beer battered outer layer still complimented the sweet vonion to perfection. I was shocked as most places who serve battered onion rings are a grease fest. These onion rings were a decadent experience.
The fries were okay. We both wished they were a little crisper.
The mashed potatoes are heavenly. Definitely a thick amount of butter was used in these to give a buttery flavor that hit tons of notes. It was a great side piece for the steak.
Lastly, the server, Alejandra served my wife a complimentary slice of the Decadent Chocolate Cake as a “Happy Birthday” present.
Such a nice touch of hospitality that we won’t forget.
It was a very moist cake with tons of rich chocolate flavor. Definitely a mist get.
Overall, the night was a success. Thank you to Elway’s for a magical end to our mountain getaway.

Good poisoning from steak. Mashed potatoes cold and way too much garlic in them. Fish came out doused in pepper when we asked for no pepper, server didn't check on us throughout the meal.
Stopped by Elway’s for late-night drinks and dessert—everything was perfect. Great wine list, an amazing bourbon selection, and a killer Old Fashioned. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were the perfect nightcap.
Our server Lucija was exceptional—so friendly and attentive. Her warm service made the whole night even better. We’ll definitely be back!
