We were there for lunch and had French dip sandwiches. They were excellent. We also think they have the best French fries around. Not only was our server efficient, he was very pleasant.
I have been going to Russell's for many, many years; I am a local. Russell's is one of my go to, top notch dining establishments in Vail. The decor is similar to the upscale steak restaurants in NYC - subdued with a happy ambience. The waitstaff is always at your command and they make sure all is as it should be without you asking. The FOOD - OUTSTANDING! Everything on the menu is done to perfection as per YOUR desires. Of course the scalloped potatoes are a must. When in Vail, Russell's is a must.
The food..the service...the ambiance... All was great. Love that place and go every time I come to Vail
Enjoyed the meal, Cowboy steak with a King crab leg added. Server was great, enjoyed the conversation and appreciated the wine recommendation. Also received a delicious chocolate layer cake as a birthday bonus. The atmosphere was comfortable and we enjoyed a table on the street side. Overall great experience!
Our server was exceptional - very personable and made sure we had all that we needed. Also liked the fact that the water glasses were refilled promptly. It would be nice to have bread included in the meal versus having to order it a la carte. Steaks and wedge salad were delicious!
The food was great we had the bison it was juicy , tender , and full of flavor. The service was great.
As is our annual tradition when we visit Vail, Russell's never disappoints. Not only are the steaks and sizes always outstanding, the service is great too. Thank you Jennifer for a great evening.
Use to be our favorite. Ate Monday nite March 3 and it was as bad a food as you can be served. How do you mess up a Caesar salad and the scallops were wrapped in bacon and they were absolutely horrible. They tasted like rubber. I’ll never go back until they get a new chef. This restaurant used to be one of the bright stars 🌟 of Vail Colorado not anymore.

I ALWAYS have the ribs! DELICIOUS!!!
I’m very picky about my steak and it was delicious, I got the filet and hubby ribeye. Seasoned and tasty, cooked perfectly. Service was very tentative even though it was busy, great waitress and hostess friendly.
Potatoes au gratin was yummy too. We had desert - strawberry cheesecake and bread pudding tasty as well.

The worst experience I have had in my life as a mother. This place is NOT “kid friendly”
We are a Spanish-speaking family and I don't know if this was what bothered us. We wanted to have a nice family night and we looked for restaurant reviews until we found that this place was “kid friendly” and had very good reviews about being “kid friendly”. We arrived, the welcome and the waitress were very kind to us. I want to point out that there were not like five tables in the entire restaurant. Until we were eating, and I went to breastfeed my baby, who cried for less than a minute. When the manager who had the white sweater arrived and told me that I had to go out and go to the BATHROOM with the baby. At that moment, I was surprised because I have been in Vail for almost a week and in EVERY restaurant we have been to they have never said anything to me about breastfeeding my baby. I went to ask where the bathroom was and also asked the host if it was legal here in Vail to send someone to breastfeed in the bathroom. But the manager in the white sweater didn't let her answer and told me she was going to take me to an office. Which was not in a condition to breastfeed a baby. The manager in the white sweater asks me if I'm okay, to which I answer no, since she was the first one to take me out of a restaurant. To which the manager with the white sweater tells me that it was because of the baby, she was crying. I was perplexed because at all times I thought it was due to breastfeeding because my baby hardly even cried. While this was happening in the unhealthy office, at the table they wanted to take away the dishes, I hadn't finished eating. The manager in the white sweater tells me that it is a policy that they do not tolerate crying children and when I told her that my baby hardly even cried, she just repeated that it was the policy. This is the worst experience I have had in a restaurant since I became a mom. This place is not kid friendly although on the recommendation pages they even indicate that there is a children's menu, when that is not the truth. The manager in the white sweater ruined the family dinner I wanted to have with my family.
They wanted to buy into not giving the reviews because “the bill is on the house.”, but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same situation. It was an experience that I would not want any mother to go through in their life.
I hope that someday they can become “kid friendly” or just tell the truth that they are not.
Congratulations party.

They were out of veggie friendly salads and side dishes on the menu including a simple baked potato. The waitress did not offer any alternatives and was unaware of dishes on the menu that were unavailable until well after they were ordered. Very unpleasant dining experience.
Vegetarian options: Almost none that could actually be ordered and it wasn’t even an option to leave off bacon.

Russell's is one of our favorite places to eat at when in town. The food and service is always top notch! Be sure and make your way there when visiting the beautiful Vail, Co.
Great time of the year to be in Vail. Not crowd. The weather is perfect! Had a wonderful dinner with window seat looking over the street. Our server was fabulous!! The hot bread with butter for an appetizer was delicious!! Steaks were so tender and cooked to perfection!!
