Two Elk Lodge is a German-inspired beer hall located at the top of Vail Mountain. The beer hall offers a variety of drinks, including the Weihenstephaner Hefeweißbier on tap. However, there have been issues with bartenders misidentifying the beers, particularly on 3/30/24 when a bartender mistakenly identified the Weihenstephaner Hefeweißbier as a lager. The food at the beer hall is generally good, with a $20 chicken sandwich being a highlight. The cleanliness of the bathrooms and the clearance of tables by the staff are also positive aspects of the establishment. The venue tends to be busy on weekends, especially as it is a common stopping point on the way in and out of the bowls or Blue Sky Basin. It is a good spot to warm up on really cold days. Customers appreciate the breathtaking views and fast service. The veggie chili is very tasty and filling after a morning of skiing; it can be customized with corn, onions, and hot sauce, although it is no longer served over a baked potato. The menu includes a quinoa/bean burger, listed as vegetarian, and vegan snacks like Bobo’s bars are available. Some visitors feel that the prices are high, with a recent $22 charge for vegetarian chili and a burger that used to be epic but now feels overpriced and lacking flavor. Despite the occasional issues with service and food quality, Two Elk Lodge remains a popular spot for skiers looking to take a break, enjoy the views, and grab a drink or meal.
