“This cafe located on pikes peak roll road would probably be your final stop before heading up to the summit. They have this cafe inside inside glen cove lodge adjacent to the gift shop. They sell their “homemade” fudge. I’m not really a fan of. I think it’s so sweet. Anyways this would be a good point to take restroom break and have your refills done prior to heading up. ?“
“Love this place (: Praise God!“
“We took this 1 hour railway to Pikes Peak. Is a lovely train ride up. I am note giving this a better rating but it was TOO CROWDED and the row facing us had 4 people for 2 seats (children on the laps of parents). There is not enough room for this and they should not be allowed to do this. The views were fantastic. Even with mandated masks there were too many people too close together (given covid). Saw arctic gull and mule deer during the ride. Conductor gave us details about the area, train history and the views.“

“Had lunch there. Small menu but everything we had was very tasty. Very good service. Want to go back and try more items on the menu. This one doesn’t disappoint.“
“I’ve now been to Lake and Lantern Cafe twice, and both experiences have been unforgettable.
The first time I visited, I ordered the homemade coffee cake and a raspberry white chocolate latte. It was absolutely to die for. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed that day, and ever since I’ve been dying to come back and try the food menu.
So of course I had to go back. The second time, I showed up so excited and ready to order multiple things… only to realize when I got there that it was Wednesday and they were closed. I was so bummed! But then something really special happened. I happened to catch the baker/barista as she was leaving, and she was kind enough to go back inside and make me a coffee anyway. While I was there, I also tried one of her homemade daily cinnamon rolls.
Let me just say, I’m not even really a cinnamon roll person… but OMG. My mouth is still watering thinking about it. It was incredible. Made fresh daily and absolutely perfect.
I truly cannot recommend this cafe enough. Spending money here doesn’t even feel like spending money-- it feels like supporting something meaningful. The owner’s story is powerful, and this woman has genuinely changed my life. I’m so grateful to support a local business and the beautiful creations that come out of this place.
Lake and Lantern is such a hidden gem with so much heart behind it. My interaction with the baker today left me with a huge smile on my face and another meaningful connection. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of genuinely badass people who work there.
Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to unwind after a hike in the surrounding area, study, relax, attend one of their fun events, or just stop by and say hi, this is the place to go. If you’re visiting the area or you’re a local, do yourself a favor and check it out.
100% recommend and fully support Lake and Lantern Cafe.“
