THE BEST ICE CREAM EVER!!!!! Literally ruined ice cream living in nyc I now am obsessed with Ashley's. Especially their blackberry ice cream flavor. And I don't even like blackberries but this is my new favorite flavor. You have to try it. It's delicious creamy and so so addicting. Defintely get a milkshake in my opinion thats the best way to experience it. I literally sometimes get 2. My one feedback is the staff is usually teenagers who hate their job and aren't very nice. I've been working since I was 16 and Defintely never had attitude but they do. But it's worth it for the ice cream. This spot is my favorite still because it has the outdoor seating available across from the green it's the cutest.Vegetarian options: It's all vegetarian!Dietary restrictions: Dairy heavy be prepared to pay the priceParking: It's right across the green so parking is difficultKid-friendliness: Perfect for kids!Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of space for your wheel chair !

The ice cream is great but they don’t seem to practice cleanliness. The person in front of us got coconut ice cream, while my boyfriend afterwards had gotten a root beer float with vanilla ice cream. The worker used the same spoon for the vanilla as she did for the coconut. At first I thought I may have seen it wrong, but then my boyfriend said his ice cream tasted like coconut, and had coconut flakes in it. Luckily he doesn’t have an allergy, and hopefully no one else encounters this.

I went to Ashley's ice cream on Thursday 8/30/23 & last year summertime & the 2 times I went there, the girls never washedxh their hands. last year when I went there the girl was playing in her coworker's hair & then went to dish out ice cream without washing her hands. no thank you. then this Thursday the worker was cleaning the window & came in to svc us & didn't wash her hands. I asked her to wash her hands & she got rude. I told her you were just wiping the windows. why wouldn't you wash your handa when you come in from doing anything. does Ashleys ice cream not tell their employees to wash their hands. do they wash their hands after using the bathroom. bc she didn't after using cleaning products. idk how you are svcing the public & not washing your hands.

Ashley's has consistently great ice cream. They offer samples if you can't decide. I always get the bittersweet dark chocolate. Absolutely delicious (if you like chocolate:-). Also I'll get the grape nut (yes, the cereal) or Rum Raisin when available. The single scoop cone is plenty even though they call it the 'kids' size. The next larger size has two scoops which is great if you can only narrow your selection to two flavors. Lots of other ice cream dishes, sundaes, etc., but haven't tried those. I'm half way between their Guilford and Branford locations but always go to Branford so we can walk about the green while enjoying our cones.
It was my first time to Ashley's on Tuesday and the next time I am in the area, I am not going to have such a full dinner so I can totally enjoy some of their non-dairy ice cream options! (We went to Darbar beforehand.) My friends had scoops and they loved it! The Coffee Chocolate Chip and the Nutella one are highly recommended! I love all of the coloring pages for artwork on the walls. Awesome decorations and also their neon sign. So classic. Service was quick and friendly and I can't wait to try it next time for myself.
