China Garden is my go-to spot for Chinese takeout in Branford! The food is delicious and the portions are huge! As a vegetarian, I love the availability of tofu as a protein option. General Tso’s tofu is my absolute favorite. The staff are very kind and warm too.

The chicken fried rice is actually just rice with chicken, a few random onions and soy sauce. No egg and nothing fried about it. There is a vegetable fried rice on the menu so I thought oh maybe should’ve ordered that and added chicken? But I looked at the website again and it doesn’t give you an option to add chicken. There also is no way to put a note with your order. I usually look at the reviews and always look at the most recent one, I don’t know why I didn’t do that this time :/

One of the better Chinese places around here. We usually order shrimp Mei Fun and shrimp Lo Mein. Those dishes are pretty good.
It’s a small take out restaurant. Nice and clean. The workers are friendly. I ordered General Tso’s chicken with fried rice and egg rolls, and everything was delicious! Egg rolls were crunchy and fresh. Generous portions and still hot when it arrived—definitely worth it. I’ll be ordering again soon!

We have been coming to China Garden for about two years. At first, we loved it but the last two times the food was not good. We decided to try one last time last night and it was definitely the last. I went to go pick up the food and the girl at the desk was too busy on her phone to look up to acknowledge me. Several people in the kitchen saw me and said nothing to her or came out. There was an open trash can to the side of the counter with the lid open which had flies around it.
As far as the food, it was again not good. My husband said his general tso's chicken had no flavor and the rice was dry and had a strange taste to it. The wontons in my soup had a very bad aftertaste and I ended up throwing it away. Not sure what happened to this place but we won't be back.
