Just did lunch take out from this establishment. On the lunch menu shrimp lobster sauce was 15.00. Seriously, that is about double what it is for the lunch special in most other Chinese restaurant. The woman waited on me should learn how to smile and say thank you. When I brought my bag in the house the wonton soup top was not secured properly and some of the soup had leaked. Thanks but no thanks. To top it all off the portions are parsimonious and the food is about average. Nothing to write home about

The most expensive Chinese food in the USA.More expensive than the casinos. The quality is average at best.Portions were ridiculous.12.00 for four tiny pieces of shrimp toast; are you joking?I've lived in Greenwich and New Canaan and their prices are at least 40% cheaper than this place.8.50 for a small fried rice (wow)You should be ashamed of yourselves.Worst experience seriously.Sad .don't waste your money seriously

Our waiter was extremely friendly and service was beyond reproach. Our dinner was supposed to be spicy disappointingly it wasn’t. Itwas very tasty but the portions were very small and the price has increased dramatically. Our usual restaurant has not had dine in serviceservice since Covid started so we thought we would give Dragon East another try. Not a total disappointment but we have decided that takeout from our our favorite place in Guilford will continue to be our go to place.Sorry Dragon East we gave you a chance!!!

This is the greatest Chinese food I have ever had!!!!!! No joke! Pork fried rice has egg, peas, and lots of pork. I have been everywhere and this is the best! Try it! You will see!

Great food! Extremely large portions, not receive. Many vegetarians choices as well. It is a bit on the pricier side with. So worth it. If you like authentic Chinese food. You definitely will have leftovers for days. It is the only place I will get Chinese food from.

Dragon East, culinary wise, is no different than most Chinese restaurants on the CT Shoreline = average or 2.5 stars. If all you know are restaurants from Branford to old Saybrook, then you will rate this 4 stars and above. The food is average, the menu is the same as most restaurants and the food is catered to those who have limited experience with Chinese food aka the typical CT shoreline diner. Expect a lot of sugar, a lot of salt and food drenched in sauces. We are a family of 5, and we tried Dragon East because our other Chinese restaurant of choice in New Haven was closed for the holiday. We ordered 5 main dishes, a side of fried rice, scallion pancakes and a Scorpion bowl for two and the total bill with tip was $145 which is average cost compared to other restaurants. The food, as stated above, was typical which means average.

Delicious! Recently had gotten take out here from here twice. I had the chicken in garlic sauce with brown rice (says it was spicy, but I didn't think it was) along with wonton sooo and my bf had his usuals sweet and sour chicken with white rice. My bf judges all Chinese places on their white rice. Dragon East was a winner! I also enjoyed my chicken with garlic sauce. Packed with lots of crisp veggies. My brown rice was also good! The only downside is this place is pricey, but I guess you pay for the quality. We will keep this place in our takeout rotation for sure.

Dragon East is your typical average to below average Chinese restaurant on the Shoreline of CT. Dishes loaded with sugar, salt and sauces... making for a most unauthentic Americanized Chinese food that appeals to the people who have limited experience with authentic Chinese food. Kind of like the fast food of Chinese food. The menu is a duplicate of any of the other average Chinese restaurants on the shoreline and someone could blindfold you and take you to any one of them and you wouldn't know the difference. We were a party of five and ordered 5 main courses, two appetizers, a side of rice and a drink for two and the bill was $145 which is probably about average. The meal was bland and uninspiring, a one and done.

Prompt service, good food with Dunkin Donut’s ? straws in a Scorpion Bowl! Not long enough and not their straws . Overall 3.5 star ⭐️ experience.

Al was a great waiter with great humor and very helpful. We had Happy Family, sesame chicken and udon noodles with pork. All were excellent. Not like your average Chinese takeout. MUCH BETTER! French Martini and Manhattan were delicious.

Went with my parents, my mom and I don't usually like Chinese takeout, but my dad loves it. Everything was absolutely delicious, we got the sesame chicken, happy family, and Shanghai udon with pork made spicy. Food was much better than any take out we've ever had, the server, Al, was very fun and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasantly surprising. You can make any dish spicy, but if you actually want it spicy, ask for extra spice, the udon was still pretty mild. 10/10 would go back here rather than any other Chinese restaurant in the area
