Brantford and I’ve been coming here for years and I am so disappointed by this last visit. I don’t know if I’ll be going back. Came in at 10:30 with my family, we ordered our usual breakfast meal that we got in the woman at the counter said we’re done with that. I asked for clarification and she said we’re all done with it no breakfast anymore. So rude and Not clear if they’re no longer doing breakfast. Or if they were just done with breakfast for that day at 10:30 seemed early for that. And the woman behind the counter didn’t seem to care. Just one of us out of line to help the next person behind us

I ordered an oat milk latte and got a whole milk latte instead. I didn't see it right away and took it to go. So I couldn't get back to change my order.

Love going to g cafe bakery in Branford but had a less than good oxperience this week. Ordered a caprese Panini to go. The sandwich I received had no mozzarella but had bits of bacon on it, which are not part of the Sandwich description. This is one of their standard offerings, someone got lazy.

I cant believe they changed almost 5 dollars for a toasted bagel with butter. It was 280 for the bagel but an additional 2.03 to toast it??? On top of which it was burnt and it tasted like they used non salted butter so ot was basically just wet. Their breads are normally good but doubt I will be back for anything else

No bagels or pretzels at G Café Bakery — but you can have the best of both worlds with a pregel, a hybrid of the two. I stopped by yesterday and had one filled with eggs and cheese. Honestly, it tasted just like an artisan everything bagel.
Pregels aren’t unique to G Café, but they’re definitely rare. While looking into their origin, I discovered that a chain of entertainment venues in London called All Star Lanes serves them too. They aim to offer a retro American experience in the heart of London — quite the opposite of G Café, which seems to give Americans a taste of a European-style bakery.
In addition to pregels, G Café also offers cronuts — a croissant-doughnut hybrid that was trademarked by a French chef in New York City back in 2013. I tried one a few years ago from the now-closed Oxford Baking Company in Oxford, CT. Honestly, it didn’t live up to a good doughnut or a proper croissant. G Café doesn’t carry regular doughnuts either.
The bakery has four locations in New Haven, plus one in Branford and another in Southport. It’s a bit pricey — we paid $41 for two small coffees, two egg sandwiches, and two almond croissants . Also, it gets busy! At 8:30 on a Saturday morning, I had to wait in line to order.

This quiche (this one was ham) was so good. Perfectly flaky crust, with a light center.
Gluten free is our future, it’s time to offer gf bread, bagels and options.

Stopped in today for danish. Apple and mixed berry. First of the pastry was overcooked and crunch. I thought danish should be flaky and soft. The apple filling was ok. The mixed berry was jelly/jam/preserve type filling. Disgustingly sweet and to add insult to injury it had a sweet crumble on top. A sugar shock waiting to happen.
Will give them a second chance for something other than a pastry.
But this experience was far from delightful!!!
I’ve been going to G Cafe nearly every morning since moving to Branford in 2020. They have amazing food, coffee and lunch options. Their staff is incredibly friendly and I always look forward to morning coffee there. Especially when the weather is nice, there are several bistro tables to enjoy fresh air and good conversation!

I have been here many times. Their items on the menu never disappoint. I recommend most of them. It’s also in a great location and you can explore the area around.

great coffee and food, however it can be hard to get a seat. With it being a pretty small space, please consider implementing a laptop policy. I totally understanding doing some work while you eat/drink but there’s no reason to stay holding up a table with your laptop even after you’ve finished your food/drink. I’ve seen time limits posted at other cafes which I think should be everywhere!

Got a double shot latte. My second visit and both times the milk was way overheated and way over foam-ed. The drink was barely 1/4 full of liquid. It was more of a cappuccino, but still fell short. I had a chocolate danish that was very good. The vibe in the dining area was also pretty good. Just get the staff trained better on making coffee drinks, and this place will be a more frequent stop for me.
