I'm 51 and I used to go here when it was called the Charthouse with my family in the 1970's. I would always order filet mignon and chocolate mousse for dessert. The fire would be blazing in the winter and the view of th waterfall was always amazing. The Brushmill has been renovating since I've been moved back to take care of my parents and I look forward to enjoying the food and ambiance and view once more. Based on the reviews, the menu hasn't changed much. As an aspiring vegan due to several issues, I hope I can try something new for an entree but I hope they still offer chocolate mousse! Cheers to the renovations and Covid restrictions ending soon!

I shared my King prime rib with my husband. done perfectly (med. rare). Others had the pork chop, or scallops, no complaints and plates were empty.

The view is very nice. The waterfall is amazing. You feel home inside the restaurant. The servant was nice and polite. The orange Salmon was very delicious. The cheeseburger was very good. The buffalo chicken wings were spicy but very tasty. The fries were good and the salad was perfect.I do recommend going there. You will definitely enjoy the food and the view. However, the beef ribs were bland and it took the waiter 3 trips to the kitchen to make it well done like we asked. They did gave us a different piece of meat to make us happy. I like their customer service. Thank you!

Nice setting, but service sub par. Food not worth the money.

Your feelings about the Brushmill will all depend on exactly your reason for going there. If you're going to dine on the prime rib, you'd rate this 5 stars. If you're going for anything else, you'd give this restaurant 3 stars. The prime rib is very good- order the large "queen size" piece, or the gargantuan "king size" slab- enough to feed 2-3 mortal sized appetites. The other entrees are okay, but not noteworthy in any other way. A few suggestions that would improve the dining experience- don't use prepackaged butter in those little squares. Use fresh-cut butter patties - or even better, whipped butter. The baked potato was obviously either from the previous day, or had been baked hours earlier. And the $15 Caesar salad was a small portion of romaine lettuce, a sprinkle of Parmesan, dressing, and croutons. I'd expect a lot more for the price. I did enjoy the prime rib which was tasty, and served rare- the way I like it. And the lobster tail was also good and complimented the meat. So if you're looking to feast on prime rib, then this is the place for you.

Great atmosphere.... but common. This has gone so far down hill. The dinner served isn't even presentable for the price.

Great ambiance but lack luster food and service, especially for the price. Thin ribeye with little flavor, tough Filet mignon, overall not impressed.

Can't beat the charm at this place. Yes it needs work, yes its not the best food or drink you'll have but it's a magical location and our host was charming.

However, I made reservations three weeks in advance to ensure it was perfect! My husband retired from Emergency Management Director and Fire Marshall from the town that we live in. Also he stepped down from Deputy Chief to a black hat of our local fire department. Because of COVID I wanted a special dinner to celebrate since gatherings are not happening. I spoke to a gentlemen in making my reservations and explained to him my occasion and requested a waterfall view. He stated that he was "sure he could make it happen". Our reservations were for 5:30 pm on a Saturday. When we entered the restaurant I told the hostess that we had reservations for a waterfall view. She stated that "we don't seat over in that area unless its a party of four or more". I tried to explain the situation and of my conversation when I made my reservation, but she stated "we will go upstairs" and sat us at a table with a view of a portion of the waterfall. We sat down at the seat provided and "Wipe Out" began playing over the PA system. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to use. My husband ordered the prime rib which he said was good. I ordered the filet mignon four ounce. When my meal arrived it was an 8 oz. steak cut in half to make a 4 ounce and looked like a flat hamburger. It was cooked as I ordered and tasted fair. The atmosphere was not what I anticipated as it was outdated on the inside. I wanted a special night for my husband who served the community for many years and assisted many families during the COVID pandemic. I was disappointed and will not be back.

I have always love the quaint and cozy atmosphere...however the current prices are not worth it. My mistake, and missed the $2 a wing cost.. shame on me for assuming that selling them individually was for a "deal" not so much... $24 for 12 unimpressive wings is an insult. Coconut shrimp as always was awesome... and our server was super sweet. I realize everything is more expensive these days and everyone is trying to survive, but unfortunately I will not be back anytime soon with the current prices... $2 a wing!!! I just can't get over it!
