The wine list is carefully and professionally crafted. I would come back for the wine list and the atmosphere. I was disappointed not find meatless options, only two a burrata and a baby greens salad, but I understand that most people prefer a dish with some type of meet. So, for those who like meat this is a very good option.

We had the mussels and the chips and guacamole for appetizers and those were both good. However, the burgers were overcooked, fries were soggy, steak was very small and had no flavor and the Mexican dish was not edible. Service was mediocre.

Tried to return (twice) and sign said takeout only. Disappointed. Not sure what is going on but competing restaurants don’t seem to have these issues.

Lovely atmosphere, warm, calm, and clean. I ordered the scallop pasta dish. The chefs prepared the scallops perfectly, light sear on the exterior and juicy, soft interior. Well done. I was not fond of the pasta, undercooked and tossed with an insipid sauce. Would return to try another dish.

Wandered in with a friend. We were looking for a quiet place to have a drink. Sat at the bar. The pinot noir was yummy so we stayed for another. Atmosphere warm and cozy. Service excellent. Stayed for dinner. Had the tagliarini with seared scallops. Amazingly good. I'm trying to figure out when I can go back. Glad to hear they are extending their hours to 7 days a week

The food is beyond excellent. I had eggplant parmesan and the chocolate torte - it was both unusual and delicious. Lovely place.
Wow, staff without manners! Unimpressed with how staff responds to customers. We opened the door to enter and a young male waiter jumped though like we opened the door for his single purpose. He didn’t thank us or acknowledged that the door opened at all. Continued theme with other staff who seem to act as if customers were meant to serve them.Honestly, I wouldn’t expect to be served like I’m special. Staff and customers should be respectful of each other. Please say thank you and make eye contact if the door is opened when you need it. Also please wait to let the person who opened it for you to say “go ahead”. Rude…just rude. The same person served me with his arm going across my space, face and never excused himself for the intrusive behavior. Obviously, he knows no manners.Other staff seemed more concerned about how they were treated than how they serve guests.Very sad!

I'm undecided about this place. Lunch menu has very little items to choose from. Very expensive for food that should not be! Atmosphere is pretty. The restaurant closes at 2pm and then reopens for dinner at 4pm. Didn't see dinner menu so I can't rate. Cocktails were very good. Wait staff was pleasant, but right to the point. Business only. So I'll leave this rating up to the individual to decide for themselves.

Just a brief stroll from the Norma Terrace Theatre in Chester is River Tavern. We chose this as our pre-show dinner, and it was very...okay. Its a small dining room/bar situation, neat and clean, with a smallish menu (I actually prefer a small menu so thats a good thing). The service was very good, the drinks delicious. The food was, again, okay: nothing wrong with it, but nothing outstanding either. I think the outstanding moment in the meal would be a date bread pudding in a delicious caramel sauce. Would I go again? Maybe?
