Nothing beats a local hometown ice cream place. Delicious ice cream choices, exceptional service provided by people who seem to enjoy what they do (they at least put on a good face if they dont), easy location and nostalgic vibe. One of the few places around the still offer cherry dipped soft serve! My go-to ice cream place.
Adorable ice cream shop, very clean, & friendly service. Ice cream was delicious on a hot day. I got the banana split which was huge & Hubs got the seasonal flavor, Blueberry Profait, which he loved. Awesome little joint, must stop if in the area. I did notice a sign that said there is a cash discount, but we paid w credit card :)

I can’t say enough good things about our experience at Mel’s Downtown Creamery! My son has a severe peanut allergy, and he was sharing a Big Kahuna sundae with his friends. The three amazing employees behind the counter went above and beyond to make sure there was absolutely no cross-contamination or risk of peanut exposure. They were so careful, diligent, and kind—it truly gave us peace of mind and made the experience stress-free.
Not only was the service outstanding, but the ice cream was absolutely delicious! We left feeling happy, safe, and incredibly grateful. Thank you, Mel’s, for your exceptional care and for making it possible for everyone to enjoy such a sweet treat. Highly recommend!
