Went in with a friend for a girl's night dinner and wanted to try a new place. We arrived about 5pm or so. The staffs demeanor upon walking in was less than welcoming but it's okay. Sat down to eat and ordered. Portion size was good taste was average. However, as we were wrapping up we were chit chatting and another worker game over, possibly a buss boy or service assistant and asked if we were all set as we had a check book laying on our table. He then proceeded to open the book to see we had signed our checks, looked at them briefly closed it and then proceeded to ask us to leave as they needed the table. This was alarmingly rude as we had just signed our slips moments before and not like we had been sitting there for hours and hours. If you happen to drive by it and want to try it it may be safe enough for that but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I respected based on the treatment this evening. As someone who has worked in and owned hospitality businesses, the service fell short of any qualified standard.
Update and reply: Cafe Fiore, thank you for your reply however you're additional context provided is incorrect. We did not order appetizers nor were we offered the option to move. When we arrived they asked if we wanted a table or high top in the bar. We chose a table as we found it more comfortable. We simply ordered meals. No appetizers or dessert and were there maybe an hour or so. We did not stay for several hours. Whichever customer you are referencing was not my friend and I. Your attempt to add context to make it seem as though the experience described was less than factual is an additional slight especially as it was incorrect. While it's good to know you will be following up with staff, your inaccurate response does not at this time improve our confidence.

Sadly, I was there last night and ordered the linguine and white clam sauce. I asked for pappardelle pasta. The dish came out with three little little neck clams a watered down clam sauce. Pasta was so over cooked. Took two bites of it. It was literally disgusting. The bartenders both know me, they both came over and asked how it was. I told them it wasn't good. Didn't eat but two small bites. Showed them the pasta. They took and brought me my check. Charged me for a meal I couldn't eat. Told me they would take care of me next time. I told both of them there won't be a next time. I will never again go back there. Paid my tab and walked out. Not the way to treat someone. Won't ever go back. Last couple meals there weren't the best. Very disappointed with the way the handled it. Lost two customers. I'll be letting others know what happened.

We had a great time to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We know how to cook Italian food, in my family, and Cafe Fiore Cromwell did not disappoint. My Dad had the veal parmesan and he loved it. My wife had sole, my Mom had ravioli and I had the salmon. We all enjoyed our food. The Gelato truffle balls were excellent for dessert too! The Tartufo was delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive even on a busy Saturday night. I will definitely be back.

It was ok. Service is fast very attentive. The food was ok. I had a ceaser salad and this is the first time that I can say that it had too much dressing. It’s always the opposite but it was too much almost inedible. My main course was the shrimp scampi. It was missing more flavor I kept taking bites adding salt and pepper but it only helped a bit. The margarita was strong like it was tequila and strawberry only. I didn’t taste lime or any kind of simple syrup/agave. It wasn’t good. This restaurant is eh

Cafe Fiore, I have only gone when I had an event to attend. This time it was for a baby shower. They have separate rooms for parties. They always do an excellent job from the food to the service staff. The room was bright and spacious, would recommend it for any event.

On August 18, 2025 there was a group of 12 that had lunch at Cafe Fiore in Cromwell, and the veal pizziola that I ordered was DELICIOUS, and FLAVORFUL, so I would like too thank Abraham our server who did an AMAZING job, which he deserved 5 stars.
