It's a shame because the building's architecture is so funky and cool. But the actual space is disgusting. There's mold, water seeping into rooms, ceiling panels rotted out, and the pool area is like something out of one of those apocalyptic movies. There has been little to no effort to actually care for the place. I stayed here for a weekend and I couldn't breathe right during the entire stay. It takes quite a bit of mold to trigger my asthma that badly. It's unfortunate because the extent of the damage likely means the building needs to be demolished.

I stayed at this location a few weeks ago. I want to say that the hotel staff went above and beyond to make my experience great! The staff get 5 stars!

Not a very clean Hotel. I wouldn't say a hazmat but I was afraid to put my hands on anything. Including door handles.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at! They locked myself out of my room one night of our stay. The hotel did not accommodate us what so ever. When I went down to talk to staff at the front desk, she was INCREDIBLY rude, disrespectful and unwilling to help in ANY way. I am truly upset in every way with the service and the people that work in this hotel.

First off, the good. The staff were excellent, and the reason this is two stars instead of one. The bar was good, and the food was alright.

Was given the wrong room at first as someone already occupied the first one I was given. Seen many folks with room issues like malfunctioning air conditioner. However housekeeping is very awesome.

Its unfortunate as I've been attending a convention that takes place there every year around this time for nearly 9 years. Every year the place becomes grungier and very problematic. The building should honestly be condemned with the amount of issues it has. Photos of mushrooms growing in the carpet, sodden drop ceiling crumbling, pungent odors, malfunctioning equipment, and a vastly growing list of unsightly issues that continue to be left untouched. Year after year people are are told of restorations, repairs and promises to make the place once to its former glory, but nothing ever comes of it. Every inch of this building is an absolute disaster waiting to happen. It will never be fixed despite everything they say. But the sad part about this is that the owner is going to copy and paste a reply to all the negative reviews in an attempt to make it seem like what anyone's been saying carries value. Nothing will be done about this place, it's lived well beyond its expectations.

We attended for a convention. Hotel is rotting , tiles down water damage all over, mold in various spots. We asked for a double and reserved it months in advance. We got a single "nothing we can do about that", no blankets or pillows, the cards die instantly. The pool area is a nightmare. They decided today to add a random extra $200 pending charge for the room. The hotel is rotting, there is a leak in the pool room. So much water damage everywhere the garage is falling apart.

Took a whirlwind tour of New England in early October. The first night stay was at Red Lion in Cromwell, CT. First impression was that it was an old worn out Radisson Hotel. The elevator (one of the two, was out of order) was old and small. The elevator floor was worn out. The room was outdated but the bed was very comfortable and everything appeared to be very clean. I climbed into bed and immediately found that my foot encountered something that did not belong. I thought, "Oh No! It’s an old sock." It wasn't. It was a pair of women's thong underwear. At this point I was too tired to care. At least they appeared to be clean like everything else in the room. (I think they went through the laundry with the bed linens. But they still did not belong there.) After all of that, I did get my best night's sleep of the whole trip. I can't give more stars because that place needs a lot of work and a some more attention to detail from the staff.

This place is like a gem covered by dirt.

Nope. Hallways, rooms are small, outdated, and smell of an awful funk. A 2 queen premium room that was advertised as being sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children was suitable for no more than 2 of either age, decontamination not 4. The beds were certainly not Queens, nor like full, and I'd hate to know what the not-premium room/bedding was like. The pool, recently opened, was FREEZING and couldn't be tolerated for more than a minute. Breakfast is average but not induced in price. There are more modern hotels with amenities included for the same or cheaper pricing.

I would fist like to state that the Hotel staff was, as they always are, wonderful. I have been going to this Hotel for years for the same event. I would give them 5 stars if there was a way to separate them from the Hotel.

The room we were given was at the farthest distance from the elevator and front door. The basin in bathroom sink stopper would not open fully to let water drain properly, the extra $50.00 held on the card was not explained at all on checkin. Staff was very courteous and the rooms were clean. This facility is now closed, I suspect poor management as service and cleanliness has gone down.

Came here for the Furpocalypse furry convention. Although a bit overwhelmed the staff is pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are clean although the building is showing its age. Really nice convention space and lots of function rooms. Edit: Fast forward a year and the building is not only showing its age but quickly falling into disrepair and turning into a dump as Red Lion appears to be putting zero $$ into building maintenance and has not fixed anything as they had promised to fix last last year. It's very sad to see as this was once a nice hotel. Red Lion? More like "Dead Lion"

It's ok and convenient for hotel guests ... but I wouldn't seek it out. Place was empty when we went. No kids menu.
