Texas Roadhouse is the new shiny restaurant in Cromwell, CT. I had huge hopes for this place because I know it's super popular and the waitlist to get in is long. So here is my review from my one and only experience there: Pros: 1. If you get on the waitlist online, they are pretty accurate when you arrive at the restaurant. We showed up on time and waiting maybe 10 minutes until we were seated. The hosts are super friendly and helped guide you to where you need to be with ease 2. The waitstaff is amazing. So helpful, so quick, the really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure you have a good experience. 3. Free bread! Their sweet dinner rolls and fluffy and delicious. But, fair warning, not everyone in my party liked them. If you don't like sweet bread, these aren't for you. 4. Entrees have an option for a side salad as a side. They are good sized salads and very tasty and fresh. 5. My son ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly. So if you like steaks, you may like this place. Cons 1. Im used to spices and flavor in my food. TR relies mainly on just salt to season their food. Some black pepper on their fried fish. So, for me, food was kinda bland. 2. Mac and Cheese isn't very cheesy. I was told it tasted more like pasta and butter than mac and cheese. 3. My son ordered a burger medium and it came well done. He put lots of ketchup on it and ate it anyway. 4. fried pickle chips were the biggest disappointment. fried perfectly, nice and crispy, but LOADED with salt. I have a very high threshold for salty food, and it was too salty for me. All in all, if you like steak, give this place a try. If you aren't a fan of steak, perhaps try one of the many other establishments in town.

We visited on 03/23/24 around 9pm… after checking in to a waitlist we watched several parties get seated before our party. A 15 minute wait turned into a 40 minute wait when the host finally asked did we receive a text message(which we didn’t) and our table has been ready…. This should have been a red flag immediately but granted it was busy we decided to give it a chance. After being seated our waiter “Selena” was fairly nice we had a party of 4 all getting appetizers and entrees. Appetizers came out they forgot 2/4 our waiter was nowhere to be found we had to ask several other servers for assistance until she came back around and realized half the table was missing apps. 25 minutes went by and we still had no apps, at this point our entree salads were coming out… when my entree came out I had to send it back my side order was incorrect and my steak was VERY undercooked and again we had to ask SEVERAL other servers to attend to this mistake because our server was nowhere to be found. I waited another 30 minutes for this mistake to be “corrected” and when I got it I had to send it back AGAIN the steak was still VERYYYY UNDERCOOKED. Terrible experience you would think after making countless mistakes all night they would have the decency to be attentive to our table and food preparation. Overall service and food was a 2/10.. most likely will never revisit

Had an amazing experience at the new Texas Roadhouse tonight! I’m so happy there is finally one closer to me. The food was delicious. Our bartender Erica was so friendly and we barely waited for anything she was so fast and attentive. We will definitely be back to visit when she is working!

Went last night for dinner, and was extremely delighted with our experience. The service was great! We were well taken care of and the staff checking in on us was the exact embodiment of the company. The food was okay I would say good, however my wife was not pleased with the service. Thus giving the 2 star rating. The steak was cooked to the liking, however, it was the minor details that mattered. Such as the sauces, which were insufficient. No ranch or blue cheese, the ranch sauce being the perfect mix with rattle snake bites subjectively. Otherwise, could have been much better, could have also been worse.I will try again later this week, and update this review according to that experience. I enjoy Texas Roadhouse and am looking forward to giving this location another shot.

My husband and I have always taken the drive to the Waterbury Texas Roadhouse when we wanted a good steak and pleasant atmosphere. We were over the moon excited to hear there would be one opening, not just in our town but walking distance to our home. If you have never been to a Texas roadhouse and love steak and a good dinner: It is a must visit. They have plenty of other options on the menu if you do not like steak. I have order the salmon before from their other location and it was also delicious.Our waitress, Stacy was absolutely on point. We never had to wait for anything that was in her control, she checked in on us several times, and went above and beyond to offer us lemons for our waters, soup containers for our sides we took home with us, peanuts, as much fresh bread as we could eat. On top of that, she had an outstanding personality to go along with her amazing service. She is definitely someone I would love to have as a server again.Lastly, they have a decent selection of drinks to go along with the food which always makes the finishing touch to any meal.Parking: The actual parking lot for Texas road house fills up quickly, thankfully it connects to other parkings lots for the plaza it is in front of, so yes there is plenty of parking if you don't mind walking a little further.

Went there today at 3 PM when they opened and it was really good! We had the blooming onion for an Appetizer and I had the Filet and my husband had the Ribeye and they were both delicious. (Better than Carbones, and less expensive!) The service was great and the Atmosphere was even better. Oh, and of course the bread was sooooo tasty. Can't wait to go back!
