Barnwood Tavern has a comfortable, rustic setting that suits a casual dinner. The grilled chicken sandwich was juicy with fresh toppings, and the fries had a nice crispness. We also tried the loaded potato skins, which were warm and came with plenty of cheese and bacon. The portions were reasonable, and the food arrived without a long wait.
My mom and sister and I came in from out of Ron for a Gilmore girls festival and came here for dinner. The atmosphere and restaurant were gorgeous and clean. The service was amazing and so fast. Our waitress Nora was so amazing she was kind and so sweet to us. We even watched her take amazing care of other tables taking kids who as birthday it was to the kitchen to meet the chef and get ice cream so sweet! Service is exceptional and quick. Food is on the bland side. Bench seating is uncomfortable.

Barnwood Tavern is a great restaurant with a warm, rustic, and cozy atmosphere, complete with a fireplace. The vibe is pleasant and relaxed, a spot where you want to linger. The food is outstanding, delicious, and honestly amazing, offering good menu choices. Specific dishes praised include the shrimp tacos, described as fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the burnt ends sandwich, noted for its smoky, tender, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Other highlights are the steak sandwich, the Philly cheesesteak wrap, and pizza. The desserts are absolutely outstanding and fantastic; the fried banana cheesecake and the sticky toffee pudding are called unreal and perfection. The espresso martinis are also amazing. The service is excellent, outstanding, attentive, kind, friendly, welcoming, and not rushed. The owners and staff are incredibly humble, kind, and attentive, making guests feel genuinely welcome. Located in Danbury, they are also opening another location in New Milford. It is a 5/10, 10/10 experience that customers plan to return to again and again.
