JK's Original Texas Hot Weiners is a long established business in Danbury, Connecticut that has been slinging hot dogs since 1924. George and Peter Koukos started the business as Original Texas Hot Weiners on White Street in Danbury. JK's Original Texas Hot Weiners opened on South Street in 1974 and offered not only their "Original Texas Hot Weiners" (if you are unfamiliar with what an Original Texas Hot Weiner" is, it is a Hot dog with chili, onions and mustard), but they also have a full menu including burgers, sandwiches, grinders and more. Their hot dogs are definitely solid and something that I would definitely recommend. I tried JK's Original Texas Hot Weiners a bit ago, when I was last up in Connecticut, but I am finally getting to completing the review now. It is making me remember it and also making me Crave a few of their hot dogs again. I definitely would return the next time that I am up in Connecticut.

The chili was wayyyyy too spicy!! I had to remove it from my hot dog!! I also didn't get the cheese I requested. ?

Such a local staple. Do yourself a favor and grab a cheese steak with everything. We live across the country now but grew up going to JKs. Every time we come "home" we make it a point to stop at JKs.

It's been a while since I've visited JK's so was glad it was still open. I've always enjoyed their club sandwiches and my husband their hot dogs. Upon entering, the lady at the counter said to place our order there. When ready, she could package to go or give to us to eat at a booth. So essentially, no waitresses. So we decided to stay and she yelled out our order when ready. Food was good. Hubby was happy too. Just a different way of eating out still in a Covid environment. Not expensive either. Very casual dining experience.
Love jks!! Been going here since I was a kid. Any meal breakfast lunch or dinner they don't disappoint. Since the pandemic they have been opening at 10, I do wish they would start opening at 6 again, I used to be there right when they opened for breakfast. ???
