I loved the Pistachio cake from Luigi’s in Carmel so much that I ordered one for my mother’s 96th birthday. I was in Florida and couldn’t partake but my sister picked it up in Carmel and my mom, sister and family were able to enjoy it. There were 7 people at dinner and due to the size and height of the cake, you can see they barely made a dent (however it was completely gone within 2 days). Everyone was absolutely crazy about it and everyone sent me pictures and called to thank me. It’s a shame to even call it a cake because you naturally think of something you buy in a bakery. This is a whole different world. This cake is exquisite. The flavor is outstanding, it is extremely moist, it has a ton of filling and frosting but not that sickeningly sweet kind – this is all top notch ingredients and completely unique. I felt awful because I know I didn’t give Luigi’s much notice and I know his wife worked 14 hours the previous day baking. But I didn’t feel so guilty that it stopped me from ordering it and they were so gracious about helping me. As you can see in the pictures, the attention to detail, the edible flowers, the beauty of the cake made it a birthday present in and of itself. I just cannot thank Luigi and his awesome wife enough for helping to make my mom’s 96th birthday special.

Had a great evening with my husband after the Homecoming game at Westconn. The food was excellent and the waiter was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely recommend and return.

My husband and I order a thick Sicilian pie with pepperoni and fresh garlic every so often, and it’s the best we’ve ever had, and we moved to Danbury from New York. The pepperoni is perfectly crisp on the edges and the garlic is just cooked perfectly every time. Luigi is a great pizza maker, his wife also makes great cakes, I tried her pistachio cake, and it was to die for! If you are a lover of pistachio flavored sweets, then this is the cake for you!

We ordered online. I arrived to find they had not even made the food so now I am waiting. Normally wouldn’t care but they had not even started the order which was made in advance. I have somewhere to be and it is for my kids so, you know, not the worst thing to happen in life but disappointing and inconvenient that they had not bothered to cook a pizza. Oh well.

The only thing they make that's good they never have... I won't waste my time going there again..if your out of Sicilian slices Not making a pie at 6pm 3 hours before you close when someone wants 4 of the 8 slices is insane for a pizzeria that's wants stay in business

I ordered a pizza over the phone. When I showed up, turns out they never made the food. Girl tells me "Yeah I remember taking your order". Soooo what happened? Had to wait for them to make the food and they didn't even offer a discount for their mistake. Poor customer service! Never coming back! Also, the pizza is mediocre at best ?

This weekend we discovered Luigi’s Famiglia Cucina II. A local treasure with delicious, made to order, homestyle food with generous servings, reasonable prices and the most accommodating service.

I've given this place 4 tries dine in and take out The food is very good but God forbid you ask for just a little extra something it's always no we can't do that. I can't comprehend when you eat in you can't eat pizza in the dining area you have to eat it by the front door area I wish somebody explained that one to me all I asked was for some garlic butter to be put on my calzone and the man says sorry can't do that for crying out loud it's just garlic butter so would that be said I'm pretty sure they got thousands of customers but losing one and getting a dodo view over a little garlic butter is it really worth it

Luigi's is always fabulous! Food is outstanding. We had calamari and clams casino to start. I had the margherita pizza, my personal fave. His pizzas are just the best. Wood fired to perfection with that amazing Luigi sauce. My dining companions had chicken parmigiana (if you haven't had their chicken cutlet, you are missing out), and tbh I was too busy eating my pizza to notice the other pasta dishes. But they were raved about. And of course you can't leave without dessert. Mama's special is worth the trip alone. Luigi's II is like the best kept secret in Danbury that really shouldn't be a secret. If you love great pizza and Italian food at a family run place along with great service. (Freddy!!) then you really need to just go.

Bacon pizza is ridiculous. they use a maple bacon I think and it's a game changer. seriously you should try it. staff and owners are great people and they expanded in the back with a beautiful full bar and restaurant. great place to have a nice quiet date night. hidden gem in the area.
