My family had dinner at the Gelston, after watching a theater show next door. Gelston House impressed with an elegant atmosphere, cozy fireplace, demure lighting. We were at Gelston House for brunch on Sunday with friends. Service was excellent and the food good and what we expected. And the view is always wonderful. A solid, enjoyable experience.
This is a lovely restaurant next to the Goodspeed Opera House along the Connecticut River. The dining room is a large rectangle with windows around three sides. There are wonderful salads and great entrees and cocktails. Service is always friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. A good place before or after the theatre or if you're in the area visiting one of the local attractions like Gillette Castle.
