Birthday dinner. Everything was fantastic. Service impeccable. Our server lylia was awesome. Will definitely be coming back.

Always a great experience at my favorite restaurant. I live down the road from On the Rocks. So it’s easy and convenient but has delicious food and wonderful staff/servers.

My husband and I got married at Fox Hopyard on 10/5/24 and it was honestly the best, most amazing day of our lives.

The venue in itself is stunning. The scenery and the setting is fantastic for photos. It was also perfect for my dream Fall wedding as the foliage was picturesque New England charm.

The vibes and service from Melanie and her team were positive, attentive, and professional. Working with Melanie was an easy process. She kept communication with me from the moment we booked until shortly after our wedding. She was extremely helpful in planning the trajectory of our day, setting up all of our decorations, providing vendor recommendations, and answering any and all questions I had along the way. She was present for our wedding day and very helpful. She was genuinely excited to hear about our perception of the experience the day after our wedding when we went back to the venue to pick up our decorations!

The food was absolutely fantastic. As a picky consumer, food was my number one priority to guarantee a positive guest experience. Each meal chosen was positively reviewed by guests. I personally greatly enjoyed my filet, pasta, salad and all appetizers I got to try. I also loved being able to add something fun like a s’mores bar at the end of the night for our guests. I would 1000% recommend this venue to anyone who is serious about serving friends and family a quality meal!

Overall, getting married here was an amazing experience. It was the first and only venue we needed to tour before knowing it was the right choice. I sincerely recommend this venue and team!!

My husband and I can not speak highly enough of Melaine and the team at Fox Hopyard. We knew that we wanted a venue in CT and loved the setting of Fox Hopyard from pictures and reviews. Melanie and everyone on staff were very welcoming when we came for a tour and made sure to answer our questions and provide thorough details on their packages. Unlike lots of venues that we went to, Fox Hopyard did not have tons of hidden fees and charges. They had straight forward packages that were inclusive but still allowed you to customize and add your personal touches. The venue itself is stunning, with gorgeous views of the golf course and surrounding woods, a beautifully updated clubhouse for dining, and a romantic pavilion for dancing. We knew from that first tour that it was the perfect spot for us.

Throughout the planning process, Melanie was responsive and organized. She checked in with us regularly to make sure that things were falling into place, and was always willing to answer our questions or give her opinion. She stayed on top of emails and calls and all of the details that came from them. Our final meetings before the wedding were stress free because Melanie had everything organized and accounted for. She coordinated seamlessly with all of our vendors and made sure that both outside vendors and her team were on the same page.

The venue was set perfectly for the day of. All of our details and personalizations were set just how we had envisioned making it feel even more special for us. The entire day went off seamlessly thanks to Melanie and the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we might need. Everyone on staff was so nice and wonderful to talk to. Melanie kept everything running according to our timeline and checked in with us regularly as we transitioned through the events of the evening. All of the food and drinks were delicious and they catered to food allergies and preferences perfectly. Some of the hardest decisions we had to make were which passed appetizers to select from their menu, because everything was so darn good!

From start to finish our wedding day was a dream, and we could not have done it without Melanie and the team at Fox Hopyard. We feel so lucky to have found such a beautiful site and have it run by the most kind, professional people. We could not recommend this venue highly enough to anyone who is getting married.

Josh, the current manager, is a great guy, and he has a great staff. We had window seats, so we gazed at the scenic golf holes. This place is very fancy and pricey, but that's to be expected at a golf course. Anyone can go; no reservation needed, though their website makes you think so. Great place along the scenic part of Connecticut.

Been there at least 10 times over the past 20 years. Keep on trying it since it close by. The bbq buffet last weekend pretty shocking. Over cooked bbq chicken ,flat tasting potato salad . Covered over cooked burgers with toppings to hide no seasonings. Berries shortcake looked like they came from stop and shop. Not trying to mean or insulting the kitchen staff. But they need some fresh eyes on the quality of the food that is being served.

Interviewed for a sous chef position, was made a job offer, then nothing. Ghosted by the head chef after being told how desprate she was for kitchen help. Was told the old sous chef no called-no showed days before i interviewed. Kinda know why now. Kitchen smelled of organic decomosition, was told that some soups and other items are pre packaged are being served regulary. Personally if i was paying $9 for a bowl of chowder, I'd want it to be made fresh. Let alone have to pay the anual membership fee for the privilege of eating a $40 pork chop. Its honestly not that interesting enough for that level of exclusivity. Shame this is the only restaurant in the area, its clear that their priorities are not in check. #remarkably disappointing

Melanie and the team at OTR are the absolute best. Melanie has a true gift for event planning and execution, her talent shines through in the details she is able to think about and plan for. When we last minute added a hot pretzel station for the end of the night, she thoughtfully had the staff put out to-go containers for each guest. She did the same for cupcakes we had for dessert, without us asking (honestly I never would have thought to even ask for this)!. When it got chilly during dinner before dancing started, the team brought out heaters for the guests, when the shuttle bus wouldn't drive up the hill to pick everyone up she coordinated several golf carts to drive guests down to the bus (while I stood there in a panic). The staff set up our table decor fantastically, they were so attentive to myself and my husband throughout the day. We had drinks waiting for us after we walked up the aisle when the ceremony ended. We had a platter of appetizers brought directly to us during cocktail hour. They accommodated requests from family members and bridal party members that were not planned for and they were so gracious about it when they easily could have said no. I would recommend everyone who wants to have a midsize wedding check out OTR! The value for the cost is outstanding and Melanie is truly a magician. I can not recommend OTR enough!
