“Congress Rotisserie is A-1! I first was introduced to it about 7 years ago at my place of employment in East Hartford when some of us decided to "eat in" and order food to be delivered. I have had their egg salad sandwiches, their turkey and stuffing sandwiches around Thanksgiving, and a bunch more. When a family member passed away, I brought about 20 sandwiches from Congress to help out my relatives. The food is excellent. There is a great variety and I couldn't recommend it more highly. There is a service charge for delivery and we usually tip as well, although, in the case of the time when I ordered to bring something for after the Memorial Service, I went and picked it up myself. They have excellent cookies and a variety of salads and the menu describes very well what is in the sandwich that is being ordered. I wrote this in response to the person who gave this one star. I think that person had to be rating the wrong place. My thumb goes up for Congress and when they ask me at work - "Would you want to have Congress today?", my whole hand goes up. This is not an eat in place, but a catering establishment. The food is all "to go" and ordered ahead of time or ordered to be delivered. Glad they are located in East Hartford, but I know they deliver in the greater Hartford area, not just East Hartford.“

“We were having a graduation party for my daughter and we weren't sure what to do for food. My wife found Pete online. We hoped it would be good. based on his reviews He showed up an hour before the guests to setup, and got to work. He gave us a sample and I knew immediately we made the right choice.
He setup and served our guests, and happily chatted with several of them. We ordered a pig, mac & cheese, beans, salad, and cornbread. Everyone loved the food. We brought 50 to go containers, and could have used more. The only thing we ran out of was cornbread; everyone had several pieces. Even after everyone brought food home, we went home with plenty of leftovers for ourselves.
My guests commented on how great the food was, and what a nice guy Pete was. I would DEFINITELY use him again for another event. I ate pork leftovers for a week and never got tired of them. I can't say enough about good things about him!“

“This is "The Best Little Restaurant" in Hartford for Breakfast, Lunch or Specialty Orders to Bring Home for the Holidays. You do not have to be in the Gold Building to enjoy Take 5 Cookery, it is absolutely worth the walk in town or drive into Hartford.“

“Overall, Ben & Jerry’s is a great spot to stop by for a scoop of ice cream! it’s been a staple of W. Hartford Center for many years now, and I’m grateful that it’s maintained such a long-term presence. The staff are always friendly, kind, and very efficient! The price is a little steep, but so is everything in West Hartford these days.

Overall, there’s a good selection of ice cream! I consume only dairy free ice cream, and usually they will have at least 2 to 3 flavors. The selection of dairy ice cream flavors is more expansive, and they truly have something for everyone in terms of taste. Their shakes and smoothies also looked delicious as well!

Unfortunately, the line is usually extremely long in the summer. The last time I was there, in late June, the line stretched all the way out the door. There were only two employees working, and they seemed quite young. They were doing a wonderful job, but it looked like a lot to juggle. In the warmer months, it may be helpful to staff more people due to the sheer volume.

I wanted to mention something that occurred at my last visit that concerned me. The line was extremely long. The couple in front of us had two medium-large sheepdogs. The dogs were extremely anxious and nervous being in such a long line and in a small and cramped space. They were clearly not doing well. A staff member kindly asked the couple to bring the dogs outside. They were obviously not service dogs as they had no vest or badge and were clearly not trained to be calm in stressful situations. The couple then proceeded to lie and say they were service animals. The staff dropped it, but I feel that a sign may be helpful for the front door stating service animals only. It was uncomfortable to see these dogs in distress in such a small shop, they were whining and very anxious.
