“Mia, her chefs, and her staff worked with us to create a completely custom menu for our wedding. We began with a tasting back in the summer. The food was extraordinary, and when we left, we knew that the other caterers would find it difficult, if not impossible, to emulate the standard of excellence she set. That proved to be true. We hired her knowing that the food was going to be something very special and that our guests and we were going to be treated to an uncommonly special meal at our wedding. On the evening of the reception, Mia knocked it out of the ballpark, serving every single menu item we picked (cocktail hour appetizers, salad, bread, butter, spreads, two different main courses (steak and chicken), pasta, sides, desserts, and a signature cocktail) at the same level of quality -- and we believe even higher -- as the tasting. We received countless accolades from our guests regarding the food. The things that people commented on the most were: lamb lollipops, the salad and dressing, and the prime rib. “Congress Rotisserie is A-1! I first was introduced to it about 7 years ago at my place of employment in East Hartford when some of us decided to "eat in" and order food to be delivered. I have had their egg salad sandwiches, their turkey and stuffing sandwiches around Thanksgiving, and a bunch more. When a family member passed away, I brought about 20 sandwiches from Congress to help out my relatives. The food is excellent. There is a great variety and I couldn't recommend it more highly. There is a service charge for delivery and we usually tip as well, although, in the case of the time when I ordered to bring something for after the Memorial Service, I went and picked it up myself. They have excellent cookies and a variety of salads and the menu describes very well what is in the sandwich that is being ordered. I wrote this in response to the person who gave this one star. I think that person had to be rating the wrong place. My thumb goes up for Congress and when they ask me at work - "Would you want to have Congress today?", my whole hand goes up. This is not an eat in place, but a catering establishment. The food is all "to go" and ordered ahead of time or ordered to be delivered. Glad they are located in East Hartford, but I know they deliver in the greater Hartford area, not just East Hartford.“
