Sammy's Southport Pizza House

Pizza and service are great! Fast service, clean interior and exterior, ample indoor and outdoor seating). Great place for a slice (or two) if you're coming out of Sherwood Island State Park in nearby Westport or if you're visiting Southport. Slices are large and I had a slice of pepperoni for $4. Plenty of street parking available as well.

I previously had Sammy's pizza and quite liked it, esp. the garden salad. My wife and I were in Southport and decided to order gluten free pizzas to take home. I appreciate the effort to make a gluten free crust, however, what we got has to be the worst thickest, gluten free pizza crust ever. I ended up scraping the salad off the top and eating it without any crust. Just too bad to eat.

Dietary restrictions: Unless they do something different, this is NOT the place for gluten free pizza.

I love Sammy’s. I’ve been coming here since childhood, and even after living in Italy for three months this is still my favorite pizza in the world!

I must say as a pizza lover, I have found that all my favorite pizzerias disappoint me these days. Many people claim CT pizza is the best. Well I have been disappointed with all my selections in the area for several years now. Last night I decided to try Sammy’s pizza. Someone mentioned it was good so I gave it a try. I was blown away. It wasn’t good. It was great. I’m glad I ordered from here. I will definitely be ordering again and again. The crust was amazing. The sauce was delicious and the cheese was very flavorful. I had half pepperoni half plain and order through Uber eats. It may have been sitting outside my door for a while before I ate it and it cooled down a bit. It still was delicious and blows away any local pizza I have had lately. I can’t wait to tell my friends about this place. Truly a great pizza ?.

A pizzeria located off the beaten path in the quiet, quaint village of Southport. An enormous menu with some of the best food in Fairfield County. Reasonably priced with generous portions and excellent pizza. A place you would enjoy returning to after your first visit. A very comfortable restaurant to enjoy your meals there. I like Sammy's a lot. Great food, great people, in a great neighborhood. Who can ask for more!

When crust is so thin it should not be served burnt . So little cheese pizza will not hold ingredients. No pizza taste at all. Not impressed nor willing to return.

Great pizza in a qaint little spot

Whoever was taking orders tonight on 11/25/2023 should legitimately be fired. He had zero idea what he was doing and had to give at least 7 people refunds including myself. To be clear this wasn't because they were busy but because this man was incapable of taking and serving orders. He lost my order when I walked in, found it after i showed the receipt and then lied to me and many customers about the status of said orders. Only to then tell me and 3 other people that he just "couldn't make it" only after waiting 30 min. While I acknowledge that this happened once out of several times going here. The sheer fact that he COULD be the one taking my order makes me want to never come here again. My family and I will heavily consider is we want to come back again since there is PLENTY of pizza places in Fairfield/Southport.

Customer Service was absolutely stellar! Two days ago I was waiting for a delayed train at the Fairfield train station, and Uber drivers weren’t in the area. The kindest young lady working a counter (didn’t catch her name) was pleasant enough to drive over to the train station to deliver this order before my train came. Absolutely outstanding customer service!

This is one of the best pizzas in the area. Thin crust, quality ingredients. Sammy’s Favorite - broccoli rabe and sausage - is one of the best “gourmet” combos I’ve had. It’s pricey but so is everything in this area. Also, they can be slow at busy times. But the pizza is excellent!
