This place is way too overpriced for the service that you recieve. I feel bad for everyone that works here. They always look in distress behind the counter.

I have been to this location for years!!
The Zenny Benny is to die for. The people are kind and food if GOOD. Not a fan of the wait time so we know to get there early.
Love the location’s decor and intimate cafe look. One of the places I take people that come and visit me and they always love it!

Good food but disorganized. Slow and Inefficient, with customer - unfriendly operating systems. Needs help and guidance from experienced management.

Had a soccer tournament in Glastonbury for our 8 year old. Four games in two days so lots of us out of towners dropping into downtown.

This place was awesome! Cozy atmosphere and was able to handle the surge of soccer families with no problem. Super friendly cashier, life changing waffles and A+ coffee and smoothies.

We went both days we were in town and hope to get a chance to return.

Coffee was burnt and waffles were soggy. Appearance of the place was disorganized and dark.

Where the waffles are certainly above expectation, and the food is as expected and likely won’t disappoint, the rest unfortunately falls pretty short.

While the home fries are seasoned excellently, I find it strange the eggs and everything else is pretty much unseasoned. When placing an order, they apparently β€œdon’t do that” when asked to simply put salt and pepper on eggs. Same goes for basic condiments, such as ketchup and mayo.

What gets me with how little space in the restaurant for dining in (a sign asking for dining in to be limited to an hour), they are extremely unprepared for take-out orders.

I call because their website doesn’t have basic options such as extra bacon, however every time I call they seem completely unprepared and unprofessional, redirecting me to other staff and asking β€œis that all” after every sentence as if I’m getting rushed to order, yet leave things out when I pick up the pace. They also don’t have a β€œpick up area” so waiting their long line (since they don’t serve you where you sit) is expected.

Today in trying to place an order over the phone they ask β€œWhat can I get for you”, then told me they were unable to take pick up orders via the phone, however I could place an order via square or Uber Eats. When questioned why, as this was never an issue before they responded with: β€œIt’s pretty busy right now so taking an order would take a little long”. Strange.

TL;DR: Food is great, service is poor, seating is cramped.

My first time and most certainly will NOT be my last. The food was amazing, service impeccable, loved the ambiance & Woman/Black owned which we love. I definitely recommend them and you should stop by. You won’t regret it!

The waffles are really good! And the staff is very friendly.

However I reccomend just getting the waffles and taking to go because everything else is extremly overpriced and not worth the money (like the side orders)
I paid $10 for a small apple juice and a cup of orange pulp........they should make note somewhere on the menu that the juice has pulp in it and a lot of it.

Also, it was about 85Β° inside on a winter day. I wish that was an overexaggeration but it was like a sauna in there.

We finally got to check out Zinneken's and it did not disappoint! The cafΓ© is super clean, cute, and cozy with such a great vibe. The staff are sweet, friendly, and so helpful, especially for first-timers.

The waffles are incredible. There are so many options to choose from, so good luck deciding! I had the Berries Insanity fruit-topped waffle and the fruit was honestly the freshest I’ve ever had. My husband opted for the Gourmand waffle (a Bananas Foster vibe). He opted for a LiΓ¨ge waffle (chewy) and I went with the Brussels waffle (crispier) and both were amazing. Drinks are just as good, from coffee and espresso to tea, matcha, or juice.

We also shared a Zinneken's breakfast meal and it was perfectly made. Everything was incrediblly delicious and made for such a great brunch. We can’t wait to go back!
