I’ve tried clam chowder at over 20 restaurants and The Mariner has finally dethroned the Bell in Hand Tavern in Boston Massachusetts after 11 years for the BEST CLAM CHOWDER!

The Mariner is a very beautiful restaurant. We went for an early dinner around 430 and the restaurant wasn't too busy. It was quiet and beautifully appointed. There is bar seating as well as a dining room, we really liked out seat by the window overlooking W Main Street. The menu had a wide variety of options so anyone could find something they liked. We chose the haddock and the steak tips. Both dishes were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The wait staff were all very attentive. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stop right in the heart of Mystic. During the winter, some seating right by windows into the bustling small town streets. The New England clam chowder is to die for and the spaghetti fra diavolo was a delight. The premium prices are those cost of being right in the heart of the town a the fact that everything is made fresh. I wish I had some breads to sop up the sauce it was so nice. Make sure to park elsewhere and stroll through town to land here to avoid the single street congestion. I made reservations because the place gets busy. The staff was aware, helpful, clear, accommodating, and kind. Definitely recommend.

A solid restaurant in Mystic. Their clam soup is the best I’ve had! Lots of good flavors! The beet salad was delicious and they kindly split it for us. The seafood pasta was good but a little heavy. I wasn’t expecting it to have a cream base. It did have lots of seafood in it

Went there with my boyfriend for their lobster roll, he said it was amazing! I’m allergic to shellfish so couldn’t try but they were very attentive to my allergy, there are tasty alternatives on the menu. Tried Chicken Marsala and it’s was delicious

Excellent food, limited menu. Excellent service with Derrick and Kerri the gal tending bar who was spot on with everything. Cute too. One star on the price. VERY expensive for what is offered.
