Really beautiful space. Service was amazing. Mad at myself for walking by this place so many times before trying it. The pasta was incredible. The vegetarian dishes were spot on. Their pomodoro sauce is something I think about often. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Super intimate space with a great wine list.

I was excited about the yellowfin catch of the day, but not the pairing of it with caponata. Lucas suggested pairing it with pesto traponese. It was brilliant and delicious. He made my day. 5 stars. Thank you!

Certainly a worthy dining experience in Mystic. That said however, although there is great ambiance, the dishes are not spectacular. Having dined not only throughout Connecticut, but aswell in Italy...I cannot honestly state I was impressed. For the pricepoint of the dishes one would expect an exquisite meal and unfortunately we experienced something very lackluster. Tagliatelle, a pasta I made in Italy very simply and very diverse. Tossed in an alfredo style sauce with crab and eggplant. A bold pairing and risky. These two imgredients do not work together in this dish. They fight each other as opposed to complimenting. A thinner and lighter sauce. An alternate protein, should be lobster and a green, spinach, asparagus, broccoli, etc. Would have earned this dish some honor. Pollo Alla Modenese. Chicken cutlet, beautiful cook, crispy breading. Wrapped in an oven baked, well done layer of prosciutto but paired with merely a bed of oil and balsamic massaged greens is uneventful. An orzo or a rice, some starch is engineered for those flavors and it was absent. Sourdough bread for the table for a charge is extremely bold. Especially when offered alongside simple spreads. Oil sauted garlic spread. Unseasoned hummus (chickpeas). And whipped mozzarella. Plain. The mozzarella when seasoned or blended with marinara may have caught attention, but as is??? Challenging.

My husband and I try to come to Mystic every December for a few days. Via Emilia looked like a great place to try and, after eating there, I would highly recommend. It was very festive and our waitress, Alexa, was great as was the entire staff. We started with meatballs....yummy! We both had the same dinner....yellowfin tuna on caponata. It was superb. The tuna was seared on outside, but rare as it should be. Dessert was also really good although dessert menu is limited. Overall, very pleasant experience and great food. We will return.

The happiest of hours is the best deal. The staff may lack (2 bartenders) some hair but they are the best people in the world! Thank you so much.

Cozy Italian restaurant located in downtown Mystic, right near the drawbridge. The food and drinks were excellent. The bread was perfect, soft interior but thick crust. The pasta dishes were the perfect proportion and tasted incredible. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting downtown Mystic.

Our experience at Via Emilia was absolutely unforgettable. From the stunning setting to the exceptional meals and warm, attentive service, every detail was perfection. GM Kyle along with Chelsea and Fiona went above and beyond to create a dream-come-true day for my daughter Zoë’s bridal shower in October. Their attention to detail, kindness, and genuine care made this celebration one of the most special days for all of us. We are endlessly grateful to the entire team for making it so memorable!
