We waited about 20 minutes for our meal. The chicken tenders came out cold. The glass of water tasted like chemical. They need to get bottled water or filter the water they serve to customers.
They need to get the kitchen staff better trained.
Went for lunch on a week day. Hostess was on the phone had to wait to be seated. A wait: to receive menu, get beer, order food and receive food. After server cleared some dishes waited for bill. Server was BSing 5 minutes with a customer leaving. Total time spent waiting a bit over 35 minutes out of a total spent there, one hour and 15 minutes.
We went and had dinner in July and I love my meal and everyone else said the food was good. We went again the Sunday of Labor day. I ordered the same thing I had before and the steak was over cooked and dry. We just went tonight and I had the enchilada's and they didn't have any flavor, my husband had Fish and Chips and the fish looked like the one's you by frozen and for the price the was very chinsey for the price. Based on the reviews, Wood-n-Tap Groton is one of the best restaurants on the shoreline. The service is always warm, courteous, efficient, and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing and the interior of the restaurant is spacious and well-decorated. The food is absolutely delicious. The beer is fresh and the cocktails are tasty. Popular dishes include sliders (small burgers), tacos, the sirloin steaks, and the hickory burger, which were all very good. The clam roll was ok, but the penne vodka with chicken was great. The food quality has recently seen a massive step up, and every dish is spot-on. The service is great and the drink selection and overall variety is better than expected. The front of house is quick and helpful. Specific servers are highlighted as absolute superstars and are incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. One server was a delight, very attentive, and an excellent hostess. Another server was amazing, taking time to help indecisive customers, being very knowledgeable of the menu, and treating all tables with respect and kindness. This server made sure drinks were full and brought more without being asked. Even when the food wasn't that great, the service was so amazing that customers would only come back for that server. Wood-n-Tap is extremely lucky to have such staff.
