We are so glad we had the chance to stop into Tavern by the Hall. It's a nice place that is open a bit later and saves you from having to drive into New Haven to drink past 8pm on a weekday. The drinks are spot on & the owner and bar tender are super friendly.

There’s some games and music boxes if you have a dollar in the wallet.The drinks are great, they’re not shy about a decent beverage, really enjoyed some empanadas here and a Caesar salad. Nice bar top. (Not a bar top connoisseur)Bartender and owner are very friendly, plenty of space if you want but cozy too. Oh and bathrooms are super clean.Looking forward to some warmer weather visits! There’s a pool table, a small outdoor open area, two or three levels, it’ll take me a few more visits to fuss around.Good place. Give it a look if you don’t need hustle and bustle. No gristle here.Go around the block though where there’s less traffic and pull in the back driveway. GPS was odd for me at the speed I was going in the dark. Plenty of parking.Tell Steve he needs to get me some more empanadas lol

We had called ahead to ask if they could take a big group and was told no problem. I think we may have come on a bad night. Food service took a while (45 min for cheese fries, half an hour for empanadas and a Ceasar salad. Nachos came quick but were cold. Staff was very friendly and apologized but not sure I would try this again for anything but drinks. Also no tables inside, it was a nice night to sit on patio tho.

This is about to be my new neighborhood spot. Norm had Cheers, and I will have Tavern by the Hall! The owner Steve is very kind and hospitable. Melissa made us a rum punch that definitely packed a punch. The atmosphere is super chill. Great music and heavy on the pour drinks will have me coming back soon! Like next week soon. The ambiance and decor are definitely sexy. I love the lower level dance party vibe. I also enjoyed the pool table upstairs witha separate bar and large televisions. There is a large outdoor seating area for a great summer or fall dining option. At the main floor bar Jesse and Melissa did not disappoint on the rum punch and hospitality! I felt like a regular and it was my first time there. Whether you're hanging out with your girls or meeting the guys for a beer and sports this is definitely your new spot. Located in the heart of Hamden with great free parking, this is a great choice for a drink, food, and hanging with great people.
I made it la little late for the grand opening, but still enough time to enjoy the night. Great place, awesome atmosphere with excellent live music. The staff is awesome & attentive. Steve is an old friend and an outstanding host. This place is in a perfect location with ample parking. Looking forward to many more enjoyable evenings!

My husband an I stopped in for a beer and to check it out yesterday for the grand opening. Beautiful with a great casual vibe. Friendly staff. The owner Steve went out of his way to introduce himself and chat for a bit. Looking forward to eating, drinking, dancing to good music and hanging out at this new neighborhood gathering place.
