Was in town for USMNT friendly. Very cool atmosphere in the bar as well as the main lobby location the event was held in. Parked across the street for $15 which was literally a walk across the street. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Good location and a nice reconditioned hotel in the heart of Hartford. Room was nice and well appointed with a very large bathroom. The valet parking attendant was very nice as he removed several empty water bottles from our car, asking us first before doing so, but all initiated by him. We did not eat in the restaurant and walked through the lobby bar. Both looked nice and interesting but we wanted to see some of the surrounding neighborhood.

We just stayed at this property on 10/8 and 10/9/23. Having never been to Hartford before, I depended on Trip Advisor to guide me. While this is the #1 hotel in Hartford, it lacks customer attention. It is a nice property. I think it was recently renovated. While our room wasn't large, it was nice and very clean. The bathroom was a nice size and clean, but the water pressure in the shower was very weak. The housekeepers were very nice and helpful also. On day 1, we couldn't find our remote for the television. We called the front desk and they said they were sending someone up. No one came so we went out for a walk and stopped to let them know and told them it was okay to send someone up while we were gone. When we returned and hour or so later, no remote. We asked the housekeeper and we all looked again. I even got on the floor to look under the bed. She got us one. We then called the front desk about our safe. I wanted to use it. Again, they were sending someone up to see it. After 20 minutes, no one came and we had to leave so once again, stopped at front desk to tell them 1) no one came and 2) that I was okay for someone to go in while we were gone. When we returned, no one went in and safe was still not working. Also when we checked in, we were told that coffee and a continental breakfast was served beginning at 6 a.m. every morning until 1 p.m. While there was coffee, nothing else, except packaged oatmeal. I inquired and they said the croissants will be out at 8 a.m. We checked a few times and nothing so we went to Starbucks. The hotel restaurant was closed both days we were there. They did recommend a good restaurant for us to go to.

So confused that the ground floor was overtaken by a raucous dance club and the quiet bar/restaurant was closed to guests. Instead of renting private event space to a wedding party, the lobby bar was a ladies of the evening dance club. I was there staying the night with my daughter and all we saw were scantily clad women roaming the lobby halls. The rooms are lovely, but the impression upon entry completely ruined the experience. It would have been much better if Club Goodwin had been confined to an event room or if they provided quiet bar space for above 25 year old guests in the restaurant bar. Such a missed opportunity. I really wanted to love this place. Hopefully the management reads this and makes wiser decisions going forward.

Great bar, atmosphere, people and vibe! The staff are amazing and cup whip up some top notch cocktails from their rotating specials list or something of your choice. From DJs to live music your bound to enjoy. Along with some good food that comes in above the standards of "bar good" done with that extra touch. You'll also get the speakeasy vibe and all sorts of friendly faces.

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. That being said the beds are very uncomfortable and the lack of shower door in the bathroom makes everything soaked with steam. Additionally the TVs are not smart TVs and you cannot stream anything on them unless you happen to be some of the insane people who use androids instead of iPhones. The front desk is unhelpful. How a hotel can be $300+ a night and have uncomfortable beds and no smart TVs is insane to me. The only reason I’m giving a second star is because the hotel is clean. Don’t waste your money. We’ve had nicer stays at a much cheaper hotels.

This was a very unique property and super charming. The bed was very comfortable and the staff accommodating. Love the library bar and the coffee shop. Bathroom was very spacious and room was clean. I will absolutely be staying here again next time I'm in Hartford!

Best boutique hotel in Hartford CT. My wife and I have always enjoyed staying at the Goodwin Hotel because of their attention to detail and excellent service. The staff is always accommodating and ready to assist in anyway. We recently traveled to Ct. and again stayed at the Goodwin. We had to make a last minute change during Labor Day weekend and visited the front desk. We’d like to recognize and give a big THANK YOU to Marisol who assisted us with our dilemma. She was very professional and courteous in assisting with our changes. In closing I’d like to say this is clearly why we always choose to stay at this beautiful boutique Hotel!

Why stay in a chain hotel when you can stay in comfort in a classic?! We were just one night due to attending a play right around the corner. Room was beautiful with candles in the fireplace, super comfy bed, spacious bathroom and superb cleanliness. All staff members were gracious and helpful. We would not stay anywhere else in downtown Hartford.

hen we stay at a good hotel, it's the little things which make a difference. The Goodwin at nearly $500/night fails this test miserably. Nice building, nice rooms, but small details were missed repeatedly. As to our stay, first and fundamentally, the hot water was, shall we say, inconsistent. If you can't consistently provide hot water, at $500/night, this is an issue. Also, our room lacked many of the small things which make your stay better. No dairy for the coffee and tea, only wretched, toxic coffeemate. A $7 price tag on a bottle of water. Nickel and dime stuff. No microwave in the room. Only a single shower curtain, not a double. No hook in the bathroom on which to hang wet towels. The room attendants did not make up our room, despite a request. Also, they took our robes and, despite being assured by the front desk that they would be replaced, they never were. Our coffee setup was not replenished. There were no cups in the room. The valet gets automatically charged every day, even though we used it only once. Just a laundry list of minor things, except for the hot water, which make the difference between a pleasant stay and a stay which results in our not returning. Details details details.

I stayed one night in Hartford after several days in rural Vermont. This hotel is simply beautiful. The exterior has an old world feel but is beautifully kept. The interior is clean and well decorated. I had a one queen bed room. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The gym is probably the best hotel gym I’ve been to. Plenty of free weights and machines. The location can’t be beat - at the center of anything in downtown Hartford you would want to do. I highly recommend this hotel - amazing place and surpassed my expectations.

We stayed at the Goodwin after a concert in the area. What a gem of a property! Our room was spacious & luxurious. The customer service was excellent, and valet was timely. Great location close to restaurants and major corporate buildings. Would definitely stay here again.

Appalling service from a terrible operation that cancelled a confirmed booking (after refonfirming in writing twice). Provided a bogus excuse (renovations to that particular room in 2 months’ time), and then were evasive when confronted by Booking.com
