The ambience was very welcoming and high end. We had just come from dropping our son off to college in the area and was uneasy about the dress code but they were more than welcoming. When i am on the road (i live in New Jersey) and traveling within 50-60 mikes of Hartford i make the extra effort to go to Max Downtown I love the cultured sophistication the depth and character of the menu and the spontaneous genuine connections to my servers I have been to each of the Max restaurants No other city has the breadth and consistency of the Max Group Michael nissenblatt,md

We enjoyed an evening with friends celebrating a milestone birthday recently.We cannot say enough about how enjoyable the evening was from start to finish. Starters, Mains, Specials and of course baked Akaska for Dessert.Pro Tip - grab a nightcap across the side street at the groups new cozy Bar Max.Will definitely be back, so long as you keep baked Alaska on dessert menu!Dietary restrictions: They had Gluten free rolls and pasta !
