For all who see the critical reviews...If you're looking for a $5 footlong equivalent, you're not going to be happy. Prices and serving sizes reflect current economic downturns affecting businesses and their bottom line. That being said, food was delicious and fair for the price. Fresh homemade meatballs were a nice surprise. Will come again when in the area.
I just wanted to take a minute and thank all the staff at Max Deli in Hartford. Since I started working in the area last year I have visited this establishment many times. Jeff and his crew always greet me with a hello and how’s your day going. I appreciate the great service I have received every visit not just once or twice. Many times I am in a hurry in between meetings and they always get me out quick and efficiently. Keep up the great work and thank you for making my lunch...
I have always enjoyed the soup and sandwiches at Max Bibo's of Weston St. The shop is a little baron when you walk in, however the fresh meats and bread make up for the lack of ambiance. The chili is consistently good and clam chowder is delicious. Don't forget to ask for the pasta salad with your sandwich. It's great. Just make sure you are in by 2:45 pm as they close promptly at 3:00 pm
