Having a horrible experience at Max Tavern. Hostess did not greet, questioned whether we had a reservation and if we understood it is Prix Fixe. Told us we could have a booth then said “no”,set us at a table for six (we are a table for 2) that was meant for the family of 5 who were then sat with us. Note it is 5:25 and there are few here but we are now part of a young family inches away from us.

Our server was incredible. Very communicative with delays from the bar or kitchen. We sat in the bar area as we were very casually dressed. Felt quite comfortable at a booth like table. Steak was raved about. Oysters were fresh but not told which were such. Salmon was moist, perfectly cooked, if a bit salty. Salad was delicious- light, fresh and unique.

They catered my daughers wedding on 9/24, and everyone said the food was wonderful and the event staff could not have been nicer. Would definitely do business with them again and/or recommend them for your event.

We picked up the BBQ box last night from MAX A MIA and it was absolutely the best. I’ve purchased similar deals from local “smoke houses” and this BBQ was far better. The absolute best brisket I’ve had in CT.the reheating directions were spot on. Kudos to the person who came up with this and hope that maybe this was a precursor to a new Max BBQ restaurant

Just came home Max’s Tavern in Springfield. We went there to celebrate my divorce and they couldn’t have been nicer. Our waitress (I think her name is Keely) was fabulous- best waitress I have seen in a very long time. She brought over a huge piece of chocolate cake to share with “good riddance” written on the plate. To top that off the manager, Alicia stop by and told us she was paying for our round of drinks. Where do find service like this? I am totally blown away. They made my night so perfect, not only being with my four good friends, but they went out of there way to make this a memorable evening. We will be back often. Total class!

Last night I returned to Max's Oyster Bar for dinner after an awful experience I had a few weeks ago mostly because the way Allison Constable handled my complains and because of a letter of apology I received from Kevin Gillespie. Thanks to both of you for making it a delightful evening.
