I recently went to Silk City Coffee to see Marmo perform and had the best time of my life, great coffee, great crowd, great music. This is exactly the kind of establishment that Manchester needs more of - it's charming, laid back and friendly. The cool hipness of that coffee shop in the tv show Friends has nothing on this place. The baristas were fast and welcoming and delivered my piping hot coffee and the matcha ginger iced latte (which is part of their cool summer line of beverages)....read full review

Having moved to Manchester from Chicago, I've been missing my usual coffee shop experience. Silk City has definitely filled that need, and has also done it affordably. The shops I used to visit in Chicago were substantially more expensive. That being said the overall experience is good, and it's a good place to put on headphones and get some work done. They also have gluten/diary free pastries usually if you need them
