Service is so bad here. Not necessarily slow for us but certainly rude. The server had almost no knowledge of anything on the menu. We were greeted with “there’s a 2 hour limit on the table”. The tables were tiny and didn’t fit the food and drinks. The server just stared at us like we could possibly move enough things to fix it. They made no effort to clear unused things, like the menus or giant mugs of water. The food is low end bar bites skimping on proteins on things like chicken nachos. Not worth ordering food there. The drinks, however, were delicious.

Ascend the narrow staircase into a higher realm of cocktails. If you enjoy quality cocktails with unique flavor profiles and ingredients, this is the place for you. Tucked up on a second floor in the heart of the wonderful downtown Middletown, Conspiracy leans towards classic and Prohibition era spirits crafted for sipping, savoring, and indulging.
The food menu includes some similarly interesting items, but really, you are here for the cocktails.
We had the Campfire Old Fashioned, (fashioned with bourbon, smoked maple and a toasted marshmallow), the World (a spherical glass with a decadent blend of ginger and bourbon with notes of cranberry and orange smoothed out by a luxurious white chocolate), and a High Priestess (hibiscus infused gin and other flavors I can't identify!) All were layered and nuanced in flavor. This is a place you have to return to to try all the options. These aren't the sorts of flavors you get anywhere else!
Parking: Middletown has metered parking on the street and in a lot behind the rows of businesses. After 6pm parking is free. Access is easy from the ample parking in the rear to the main street through the Main Street Market indoor mall.
Wheelchair accessibility: This is a second floor establishment with access via a stairway from street level. I saw no elevator for wheelchair access.

Sad to say that service was incredibly poor. Our server never checked in on us, got us drinks and then left us for 40+ minutes and never came back to take our food order. He then disappeared again, and we waited on our check for another 30+ minutes. He seemed completely bothered by the fact that we were there - food and drinks were great - service made the overall experience not great.

Apple Maps says this location opens at 4p. I wanted to bring a friend because I’ve previously had amazing experiences. I told servers this and just wanted them to know for this own knowledge that Apple Maps says 4p, and we waited for opening. Was then told they “have no control over that. Our website says 5. Bye.” Clearly I wasn’t expecting someone to serve me at a bar that wasn’t open, but when telling them for their own knowledge what Apple maps says (I don’t use Google), I was met with rude answer. Corny.

Oh my gosh, what an insane treasure hidden in plain view! I walked by this anonymous looking front door so many times and never knew it went up a stairway to the coolest ever speak easy kinda bar. Very chic vibe, with the most suave bartender and their drinks are inspired by tarot cards! They give actual tarot decks and you go through the cards picking out what magical drink you want. The drinks don't just have magical names, they are mouth-watering amazing, even the mocktails were insane! The empress and temperance were our top favorites of the night, paired with their mac and cheese rib dish, you can't imagine anything better. Such a cool hidden prize here in the heart of downtown Middletown, loved it!

We had to wait a bit but we didn't have a reservation so that's on us. The drinks were unique and most of them were really good. The service was alright. It's dark in there which is nice but if you have a hard time seeing then you might need to put your flashlight on. The couch needs to be replaced truthfully, it was all beat up and you fall back because there's no stability and depending on where you are sitting on that couch it's extremely uncomfortable and the pieces that were peeling would feel scratchy on your legs. We didn't order food so I can't comment on the quality of food.

Honestly, I am loathe to write this review because Conspiracy is such a great place, with lovely staff and excellent drinks. Its only downside is a plus as well, being a smaller, cozy space, and my worry in writing this is that more people would come and make it difficult for me to get reservations. They deserve all the customers though, so here we are.

Very cool concept and decor/vibe. Service was lacking sadly. No one asked how our food/drinks were or checked in on us at all. We were out of water for a while and when asked for more, they only filled one cup. They walked away before I could ask for another cup to be filled. We never got plates to eat off of, so just ate over the dish the food was served in. One of our apps was cold by the time we got it. The other apps were good. The cook at one point came to help make drinks. It seemed others were waiting just like we were for drinks/service. I noticed they squeezed fresh limes/lemons to make juice for the cocktails. While this is great, it seemed to take up a lot of their time and didn’t seem efficient. Maybe if they prepared a fresh batch at the beginning of the shift, it would still be fresh without having to take so much time to make it for each individual drink. I don’t think I will be back.

I love this place, but please have more staff members on the clock especially bartenders. It’s so busy and the staff is clearly being worked so hard, it makes me feel guilty adding to their work when I order.
