My wife and my mother in law walked into this dinner for the first time and we're greeted us with a warm welcoming. I asked for what's the best here and the man said cereal and water, so the humor was awesome. That was the first 5 minutes there and we all ordered something different and all 3 were awesome, I had the chicken stir fry, Sue had the pastrami rueben and my mother in law had a steak and cheese with mushrooms, peppers and onions. I had to try there's because they keep saying how great it was. So im not a writer but I thought they deserved this after around 1 hour of the staff making us laugh and having a perfect lunch. Thank you guys again, Steve and Sue Lepack.

Been going on and off for 20 years when I started at middlesex community. Owner is a sweet heart and staff has always been friendly even when I brought my children.

I haven't been here in maybe 20 years, I like the look. Great service! The atmosphere was that of a hometown diner, of course. I had the unique and very tasty shredded homemade corned beef hash with eggs, home fries and toast, combo priced right, and Frank's Red Hot available. Everyone seemed happy and made the experience even better. A vintage diner that has been part of Middletown for over 60 years. Main Street Middletown has many outstanding restaurants, none better then the Ford News, everyone needs to try this place.

This feels like a Connecticut institution.
A row of stools at the counter, a row of tables behind it, and literally one booth. The prices are excellent for 2024 - two can eat well for about $20, which is nearly impossible anywhere else except Denny's these days.
The people here who run the place are very nice... The pictures on the walls reveal that they (or at least the family) have owned this spot for ages.
Open question: why is it called the Ford News Diner? There's gotta be an historical reason...

Awesome food
When I first moved here 2 months ago my parents and I walked Main Street and even though there were plenty of other options we just love that it was an original Diner everything was satisfaction I would definitely go there again just for its quaintness home feeling and good service. ? ? ?
