We've gone here three times now...while the food the first two times wasn't anything above average, the food during our most recent visit was well below average. We ordered a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer ($14)...it was no larger than what you would get in a kid's meal at Taco Bell and tasteless. For entrees we order shrimp tacos, which came with minimal shrimp and warm guacamole, and the Coyote Bowl, which was overwhelmed by lettuce and sour cream. Our waiter was working both the bar and the high top area where we were seated...he never came to check on us after our food (which resulted in us not ordering another round of drinks), and it took about 20 minutes for him to bring us our check. Yes he was busy with his work, but he was also socializing with a few tables and did not even look at us as he walked by during our meal. The lighting in most areas of the restaurant is not normal...there is a purpleish tint throughout which isn't the most pleasant on the eyes. Not really willing to give this place another try...will be looking for better Mexican options in the Trumbull/Monroe area.

Love this place! In my opinion, one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Consistently delicious food and margs with great service and good ambiance. The churrasco is one of my favorite steak dishes

Bad! Bad food, bad atmosphere, bad waste of money. Unless you like your nachos out of the microwave move on to your next choice of restaurants. Everything we ordered was soggy. The nachos came in a bowl with only cheese and guacamole. We asked for salsa and they didn't seem to know what we were talking about. Quesadillas and empanadas equally bad. This is not the El Coyote of years ago that at least had a nice atmosphere. The walls were decorated with construction paper hearts (yes for valentines day), but they could take a trip to Homegoods and do some decorating. OK, enough said.

This is not the El Coyote of years ago that at least had a nice atmosphere. We ordered nachos, quesadillas and empanadas for appetizers. Everything was so bad we didn't bother ordering dinner. The tableside guacamole was fine but a very small portion for the price paid. The nachos were soggy and served with just cheese and guacamole. Tasted like they were right out of the microwave. We asked for salsa with the nachos and they didn't seem to know what we were talking about. Quesadillas and empanadas equally soggy and tasteless. They could benefit from a trip to Homegoods for some decor to replace the construction paper hearts. We all left very disappointed.

This is a really great Mexican restaurant. Prices have gone up a little and the menu has changed, but overall they're still very good. They're churrasco is top-notch. And there's salsa is so addicting, those sometimes they add a little too much pepper.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years, it is hit or miss. The food can come out hot or luke warm??‍♀️The margaritas are good ?? the service is good ??They just renovated the entrance space and the bathrooms, which looks nice ??Their best dish for me is the avocado salad with grilled salmon ?And their coconut flan is yummy ??

Recently moved to the area and decided to try this place out given we love Mexican. The service, drinks, and ambiance were all great but the food was definitely lacking. Overall taste was just blah; very mediocre. Going to give it another chance soon as I really want to like this place.
