I rarely write reviews but this place has phenomenal food! So fresh. Highly recommend the shrimp tacos and guacamole. I love that the tacos did not come packaged in plastic. We ordered from Door Dash. Highly recommend!

This was my second time ordering take out and for second time in the row they messed up my order. The order came with a note clearly listing items I ordered, but inside it was a completely different order. I called the restaurant and I had very hard time having them accepting their mistake and giving me an attitude. After arguing for a while they offered me to place an order for a soda and they would make me my original order, which I would have to pickup. Made no sense to me why I'd have to place the order for a soda, these people never put a real receipt both times I ordered.

This place was a huge disappointment—the food was insanely spicy with no warning at all. I enjoy some heat, but this was overwhelming and completely inedible. Even the meat and toppings were loaded with spice, not just the sauce. There were no spice level indicators on the menu or any heads-up. If you can’t handle extreme heat, I’d avoid this place entirely.

Ceviche mixto had great flavor and spice and birria quesadilla was delicious.
While visiting Connecticut, I suddenly had a craving for Mexican food, only to realize there aren’t many authentic options in the area. After doing some research, I came across El Gallo De Oro in Monroe, and I’m so glad I did! The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. The service was fast, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I’m thrilled I found this hidden gem!

accidentally ordered from here instead of el gallo dorado.... the queso fundido genuinely just tasted like and had the consistency of tostitos brand queso and the portion was tiny :/ super disappointing

Very good food but they purposely do not turn on the hood fan at its highest or it is broken. It stinks like grease rather heavily. The contamination in the air was so high that my eyes became waterly and we so badly stunk like food when we got home that we all had to shower. They must work on that as that is a serious health department violation.
