I made an online order for a Greek salad with chicken shawarma and rice pudding. I specially asked for no tomatoes and no olives. The order arrived loaded with tomatoes and olives and a tiny piece of feta cheese. Furthermore, there was no rice pudding for which I paid. When trying to contact the restaurant multiple times , the phone just and rings and there is no voice mail set up. Hugely disappointed in a restaurant I used to love.

The food at Monroe falafel is amazing. Truly authentic Egyptian cuisine. The restaurant has a family feel and the proprietor and chef is also your waiter. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, seasoned perfectly. Portions are ample —you will definitely be taking home a doggie bag or three. There is also a small market where you can purchase delicacies to go. If you are Arab, you will feel at home. If you’ve often found Middle eastern food to be “meh,” you’ll change your mind. If you’ve never tried middle eastern cuisine, do it here. You won’t be disappointed.
The owners are very pleasant and aim to please. We used them recently for catering a family gathering (as well as take out many times before). They prepared a special bulger wheat pilaf sometimes available in the self serve case. The Fattoush salad was extra special as they added some diced radish and pomegranate seeds. We had the chicken shawarma and spicy rice as well as hummus and baba ghanoush which was decorated with flowers and pomegranate. They went the extra mile and everything was ready on time as promised. Everyone loved the food and the best part was not having to cook myself!
