We really enjoy Tavern on the Hill both for take out and dining in. The food is always tasty and hot. Potato Skins are excellent and the smoked chicken is delicious. The onion rings are great and my wife loves the veggie plate. They poor heavy drinks and the staff is always nice, even when busy. They often have music and we are grateful to have a local eatery that is dependable and consistently good!
My wife and I recently moved to Moodus and we were searching for a casual restaurant/bar to frequent. The other day we took a wrong turn and happened upon the Tavern on the hill. It was a very lucky mistake. The tavern on the Hill. They call themselves a smokehouse. And although I was hesitant, I ordered the St. Louis ribs, and I was not disappointed. At 6:30 tonight we went there for dinner. And very glad we did. My baby back ribs with the sweet sauce was delicious. My husband loved his meal, as well—St. Louis ribs and beef brisket. Our meals came with cornbread and two sides. We both loved the coleslaw.Definitely plan to go again.
