The appetizer fries are pit of this world. The Mexican salad I would pass on. Great service. The environment was noisy when crowded.

Decided on a last minute trip to Mystic for Xmas Eve. Grabbed a reservation at Rio Salado and SO GLAD WE DID! Our food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Our server, Kevin, was attentive with a positive, upbeat attitude. Can't wait to go back! Rio Saldado is definitely one of our go-to places from now on. Perfect way to celebrate family and good eats!!

Healthier form of Mexican food. My server double as bartender with a big personality. Entertaining so gave an extra tip.

Had a delicious dinner here. We had the burrito and a delicious salad. Dinner and service was excellent. Just a note. This is not a traditional Mexican Restaurant. It’s an upscale Modern Mexican Restaurant where they charge you for chips and salsa. And the menu items are a bit different that I’m used to. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Mexican Restaurant that they charge for chips and salsa. Although they say it’s unlimited…. But you have to ask for more, they don’t seem to make an effort to offer. Also the restaurant is very loud where everything echoes. Besides that it’s an amazing restaurant.

I love Rio Rapido so much. I get lunch a couple times a week and am never disappointed. The food is always incredibly fresh and delicious. The service is friendly, quick and everything very reasonably priced. You cannot go wrong with a burrito bowl or my favorite quesadilla tacos.

Okay. I wanted to like this place, but from the moment I walked in , I was never acknowledged by the hostess. She was an older white woman and didn't once utter a word to me- not a hello or I'll be right with you--NADA. My companion went to the restroom, and when they returned, I was still at the hostess stand - just waiting. I went to the restroom to wash my hands, and when I returned, my companion was seated in a booth on the other side of the bar. I ordered a Rio mimosa to drink, and it was the first time in my life I have had a mimosa made with ice. Why? I still don't know. Now, the waiter was great. He was pleasant, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the crab cakes. The presentation was beautiful. However, my excitement was short-lived when I started eating my second crab cake. The second bite I took, there was a large hair in it. I'm blonde, and the hair was short and black. No way it could be mine. The waves of nausea rushed through me immediately. The waiter was apologetic, but there's no coming back from something like that. Would you trust that kitchen to prepare more food for you? I couldn't! I left hungry and couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day. I was traumatized. My companion had the chicken burrito and loved it.Overall, the restaurant is decorated beautifully and clean. My impression of the waiter stands. He was awesome. The hostess should have been taken as a sign to leave, but I ignored it. Try at your own risk.

These were the best vegan tacos I've ever had. The crispy cauliflower with melted vegan cheese and whatever magic sauce they used was the tastiest combination I could dream of. Unfortunately found this place on a road trip so can't go back very often, but I'm counting the days until I can. Only waited about 10 minutes for our food and the place was a vibe. The only bad thing about this place was I could've eaten 3x as much. It was that good.Vegetarian options: Vegan cauliflower and cheese. Best vegan taco options out there.

Came here with/at the recommendation of some friends. Decent food and a decent beer and drink selection. A bit on the pricey side but that's to be expected in Mystic. Worth taking a trip and giving it a shot. A little easier to get to and park when compared to downtown historic mystic. Heard about a "secret" part of the business down in the basement, but requires a yearly membership fee.

This was a lucky find right near our hotel. Food is a modern take on Mexican. Service was great and we enjoyed the sunset view from the patio.
