Honestly if you're looking for portuguese food, you definitely are at the wrong place!I don't have any reasons to be negative, but I'm being honest! I was charged almost $100.00 for something that was a scratch in portuguese food, I have a huge knowledge in portuguese food, I do cook and went through of lots of portuguese culinary, sorry definitely not worthy!

The atmosphere was PERFECT! The waitstaff, Rui, was attentive and pleasant. He took his time with us ordering. The food was AMAZING! The chef is a step above the rest. She came out to the table to talk to us, and you can see her passion for the food she makes. No recipe in the world can duplicate these dishes as she makes them with love like she is cooking for her own family! We will most definitely be returning for another round!

Authentic and Tasty! There is a whole bar for you to eat and drink and a dining room with many tables. Espresso is very popular and one of my favorite especially after a delicious meal.

Visiting the town of Naugatuck for Portuguese cuisine the other day, we had a pleasant lunch at Santos' Restaurant. We sat at the bar. Asking for a spiked water, the owner said he just got some in because people were asking for them. He gave us menus and place settings. I asked about the quail appetizer because I couldn't remember when I last saw this option on a menu. He said they were small but very good and sold individually. We ordered two. Grilled with a flavorful sauce, they are delicious. Our two quails had different skins though. Mine was tough so I broke it with my hands to eat the meat, whereas my partner's was fine, and he cut his in half with ease before picking it up to eat it. Not sure what made the difference, but I'd order it again because it's such a unique menu item. Hopefully, the next one will be more tender.Complimentary Portuguese rolls and a plate of olives came before our appetizer along with water and a slice of lemon. Our mains were big in portion size and enjoyable. The grilled jumbo shrimp was a starter but the owner suggested he could make it a main by adding rice and their house made potato chips. I'm glad he did. The rice had a nice jasmine taste and the chips are the best. My partner liked his pork and shrimp main. The diced potatoes in the dish soaked up the broth for a scrumptious bite. He was happy to help me with the potato chips. We had boxed up what we couldn't finish. The cup of freshly ground coffee we had after our lunch was perfect. Everything a cup of coffee should be. Served in a small cup, hot and black, a little sugar made it just right. My partner mentioned to the owner that he'd had a flaming sausage there once before at an event. He laughed and said yes, it's served on fire. They put the sausage in an oblong dish with brandy and then light it for presentation. Fun stuff. Reading the Santos' New York Times review on their wall (see my photos) we look forward to trying their steak on a rock.Casual atmosphere with a full bar, dining room and event room upstairs. Friendly owner. Local clientele. Definitely worth a visit.
