Blackbird is, without exaggeration, one of the most amazing restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, everything feels intentional—elegant yet relaxed, refined without being pretentious. The atmosphere alone sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

The food is outstanding across the board—beautifully presented, deeply flavorful, and clearly crafted with skill and care. Every dish feels thoughtful and elevated, the kind of meal you keep talking about long after you’ve left.

And then there’s the dusty martini—quite literally the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, impeccably chilled, and executed with absolute precision. It’s the kind of martini that ruins you for all others.

Service is polished, warm, and intuitive, making the entire experience feel seamless and special. Blackbird isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a destination. Truly top-tier in every way and an easy, enthusiastic recommendation. 🍸✨

From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt elevated yet comfortable with dim, stylish lighting with a lively bar and plenty of share plate energy. The service by Marianna at the pub was a standout. She was warm, welcoming, attentive, and she offered helpful suggestions.

The mini tostadas were crisp, flavorful and a perfect opener; the fried oysters were beautifully done. The combination of global inspired small plates and inventive mains makes the menu feel exciting.

The ambiance and cocktail game are strong too could be an ideal spot for a date night or a sophisticated evening out with friends. Service was smooth overall.

If I were nit picking a couple of portions were on the smaller side, and the pricing reflects the upscale surroundings, but given the quality of food, service, and setting, I’d definitely return.

Blackbird delivers a memorable dinner experience. Excellent bites, strong service from Marianna, and that special night out feel without being too formal. Highly recommended if you’re in the New Canaan area.

I celebrated Mother's Day at Blackbird's in New Canaan and it was an absolutely amazing experience! I highly recommend ordering the margarita flight, guacamole and chips, spicy tuna rolls, smash burger with fries, and bread pudding. The service was incredible and very accommodating. Our server went above and beyond to ensure my Mom's dining experience was very special and memoriable. Highly recommend this incredible restaurant in New Canaan for the best food, drinks and service.

Ordered the lunch special: house salad with two sushi rolls. Great flavor and freshness in both the salad and shrimp tempura rolls. Also ordered a mocktail which was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was lovely.

Very good Service. Very good and well done food. Somewhat expensive dishes, but already indicated in the letter. But the problem is the price of everything that is not on the menu (desserts, drinks...); $11 for a shot of liquor or for a beer is a real steal.

This was our 2nd time at this restaurant. We were so enamoured with the Black Seabass dish containing morel mushrooms and a divine pea puree, we returned and ordered the same dish. We were sadly disappointed. The chef changed an award winning dish- (it was perfect! ) by replacing the delicious pea puree with a mustard sauce (which I did not eat as I have an intense dislike for mustard) and inexplicably removed the mushrooms from the dish. This turned the dish into Black Bass with asparagus which I would say was good, but not great. The service was just fine, fast and provided by an eager to please server. You may wonder why we ordered a dish which was altered - the reason is we looked up the menu online before we made the same-day reservation so when we arrived, we did not scrutinize the changed menu as we should have. Our mistake.

Fantastic food and service. We loved the short rib and brussel sprouts. Very accommodating of my toddler who was hangry upon arrival.

For the price, WAY overrated and WAY over priced. $200 for a Mother’s Day brunch for 2 adults and a kid. And food that was late. 1 Bloody Mary. Your’re paying for the zip code and the nice sidewalk. Cesar salad was what you’d get at your work cafeteria. The rest, well I’d say go to Terrain for half the price, better portions and food. And then you can shop after.
