My fiance and I absolutely love New Hartford diner. We have been there multiple times on our days off and when we have to work the night shift at work! We have had the best experiences there from where we haven't been there in 6 months and our waitress still remembers our drinks when we sit down at a table! But this week was totally different. We went in there at 2:00 when they close at 3:00. We had a waitress we had never seen before. She threw our menus on the table. Asked us if we were ready to order drinks and if we knew we wanted to eat right away.... We told her we needed some time. She came back asked if we were ready which I still needed more time. Finally we ordered got our food which was okay but I was missing my side and we were missing napkins on the table... So I went up and asked for it and just asked for it to go because I wasn't going to eat it after I was already eating my main meal.. about 5 minutes later while still eating. She drops the to-go boxes and the bill on the table. So we decide to finish up and leave because we felt we were rushed out of the place and it wasn't even 2:30 yet. The next day she came into my fiance's place of work and verbally assaulted her cuz my fiance had called her boss to let her know how her experience was. My fiance was so embarrassed in front of her boss's and customers. This was so uncalled for. Other than this one person we recommend eating there and the food is always wonderful. We are very unfortunate that we will never be able to go back there any after this experience. If you go there just make sure Taylor is not your waitress. Otherwise you will have a great experience!

I've lived in the area for three years and finally came here for breakfast. I'm definitely coming back! Food and atmosphere are great, portions are large, and staff are friendly and efficient. They have all the usual diner fare and some creative dishes too.

Visited for Saturday late-morning breakfast, and despite tables being only about 15% full, server delayed our attempts to order, and once finally ordered, omelettes took 40 minutes to arrive. Staff seemed too busy with the takeout business to give attention to dine-ins.
