Amazing ice cream with generous servings. Seating is lacking yet plenty of space to stand around and eat.

Delicious ice cream! And the cheeses!!! Always really nice knowledgeable, friendly service. So lucky to have them on Chapel St.

Very high quality ice cream, but rum raisin wasn’t super rum-y and not many raisins at all, cranberry dark chocolate chunk was better but also not a ton of stuff in it.

We love Arethusa! Best ice cream in downtown New Haven - you need to try their seasonal flavors, especially the new hazelnut with chocolate espresso beans . The seasonal pumpkin flavor is also excellent, and the sweet cream flavor is also always a go-to. Pro-tip: You can get one scoop split into two flavors - just ask! I only wish that they were open later because sometimes I crave ice cream past 8 pm!

It’s fine. I’ve is decent but the guy serving us was weird. Said hello but dude just stared down at the scooper and then when we stood to choose he just stared at us and didn’t say anything after putting the ice cream in the cups till another person came out the back to ring us up. Go to Jennifer’s in East Haven for better prices and ice cream.

I just love their ice cream, it’s so fresh and tasty. They are priced reasonably. Their store is very simple and neat. It’s clean and very well maintained. They also do have small sized ice cream packs for sale, in addition to the cone ice cream. The staff were sweet. Service was good. Their ice cream is a must try.

After visiting Louis' Lunch, the wife wanted ice cream. Searched up Yelp, then she walked to Arethusa Farm while I got the rental car. I had to circle the block and wait. When she was ready, I picked them up at the curb, while an impatient driver honked, and sped by. She got an old-fashioned Raspberry ice cream in a cup. It tasted like it had rich butter fat. That's the type you'd expect from a place like this. We enjoyed the ice cream as we drove back to Boston. Since it was very cold outside, the ice cream kept pretty well in the car. I had a last bite as we approached Cape Cod.
I was so excited to try Arethusa ice cream in New Haven as I am a big fan of their Egg Nog! That excitement quickly diminished when it was time to interact with the staff. They were all rude (including the manager). I tried engaging in friendly conversation, but that did not stop or help their rude behavior (as they walked away from me and ignored me). Also, to the rude manager that told me there's no way I bought Arethusa Egg Nog for $13.99 at Whole Foods, and insisted that it wasn't Arethusa's.....take a look at the receipt.

Dark chocolate ice cream was delicious. Even 1 scoop of ice cream is big enough. The shop also sells milk and dairy products from their farm. Prices are normal

Disappointing that I have to write this, but I felt supported by the many other recent reviews regarding the incredibly rude, egotistical manager/owner.I'm not a frequent customer but loved to bring guests here when they visited. Last time I was in (Fall 2023), I politely asked about samples and was snapped at - "no because COVID". When I asked if they were considering bringing them back since we know much more about COVID transmission and it was no longer a public health emergency, this manager/owner man was quick to jump down my throat, essentially telling me I don't know anything and he's an NP. The absolute condescension and disdainful sneer was appalling and I'll never spend my money here again. Just yikes - how does he scoop ice cream with that massive chip on his shoulder? If you want to support a small business that isn't using COVID as an excuse to punch pennies, highly recommend Elena's for soft serve ice cream where everyone is lovely and they voluntarily give out samples!

This place has amazing ice cream!!! My favorite is the peach, which is not always there. They also give generous portion sizes and one serving can be split into two flavors
